[VIS x National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University's Niche Women Group: Advancing Women's Empowerment in Science and Technology] VIS is a leading international semiconductor foundry dedicated to providing specialty IC foundry services, advancing technology development, and improving production. The company is committed to making a lasting social impact and promoting STEM fields for current and future generations. The Niche Women in Technology team, affiliated with the 國立陽明交通大學ESG凈零轉型創新研究中心ESG Net Zero Transformation and Innovation Research Center, consists of female students from National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University. They actively promote STEM education by organizing TechTalks, where industry professionals share insights on careers, trends, and practical applications. These sessions inspire and equip female students with the confidence to excel in STEM careers. VIS is also committed to women’s empowerment and strives to improve the recruitment and retention of female engineers by addressing the challenges they face in the tech workforce and creating a supportive environment. In May 2023, the company launched Women V, an employee resource group that promotes diverse dialogue and fosters an inclusive workplace where female employees can thrive. To further support female STEM students, VIS mentors Sibel Hsu, Gina Ko, and Celine Lin were at National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University to conduct a session hosted by the Niche Women Group. We are excited to announce the official launch of our joint venture, VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Pte Ltd (VSMC), with NXP Semiconductors, having secured all the necessary approvals from relevant authorities. This venture will create approximately 1,500 jobs and strengthen the semiconductor supply chain, contributing significantly to the ecosystem in Singapore and globally. Construction will now proceed on VSMC’s first 300mm wafer manufacturing facility in Singapore, set to begin in the latter half of 2024. “VSMC’s first 300mm fab represents VIS’ commitment to meeting customer demands, expanding our manufacturing capacity, and diversifying our global manufacturing bases. We express our gratitude to the governments and regulatory authorities for their strong support, which has enabled us to obtain the necessary approvals and proceed with this significant investment as scheduled,” said VIS Chairman Leuh Fang. Planting the Seeds of Curiosity and Creativity in the World of Semiconductors: This month, at VIS Taiwan in Fab 2, the “VIS Little Engineer Summer Camp” organized by Women V, welcomed more than fifty young engineers. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for our employees to bring their children and encourage them to explore the world of semiconductors. It featured engaging activities such as personalized T-shirt designing, clay modeling, and insightful sessions on cleanroom suits and fab safety. These hands-on experiences allowed the young engineers to connect their classroom knowledge with practical applications, fostering a deeper interest in the field. By the end of the event, each child left with a newfound appreciation for the significance of semiconductors in their everyday lives. VIS has reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2024, with the following key takeaways: - Wafer shipments increased by approximately 19% sequentially. - Blended ASP decreased by 4%. - Gross profit margin improved by 2 percentage points to 26%.   Third Quarter 2024 Guidance: - Wafer shipments are forecasted to increase by 9% to 11% sequentially. - Blended ASP is expected to decrease by 0% to 2% compared to the second quarter of 2024.   Read More at: https://lnkd.in/gJH5B3Fx

🎖New Milestone!🎖 VIS and NXP to Establish a Joint Venture to Build and Operate a 300mm Fab. The joint venture will begin construction of the initial phase of the wafer fab in the second half of 2024, with initial production available to customers during 2027. VIS Chairman Leuh Fang: “VIS is pleased to work with leading global semiconductor company NXP to build our first 300mm fab. We celebrated Lunar New Year in a buzz at Vanguard International Semiconductor Company. The Iconic lion dance makes a good spectacle to usher abundance blessing and prosperity to the company and all employees. Dragon Lo Hei our favourite employee activity to toss up a good fortune and greater success together. Lunar New Year Dinner had become a memorable highlight every new year to foster a sense of unity, team camaraderie and giving nice appreciative gestures for the hard work. We look forward to continue this positive festive spirit and achieve greater success together for the dragon year ahead.
