🌍 Celebrating 50 Years of Transformation! 🎉 Today, World Vision Kenya marks a milestone - 50 years of impacting the lives of children, families, and communities across Kenya! What began as a small relief effort in Machakos in 1974 has grown into one of Kenya’s leading child-focused humanitarian organizations, reaching over 2 million people annually in 37 counties. From emergency relief in drought-stricken regions to launching child sponsorships, building schools, and advancing child protection, our journey has been one of hope, resilience, and change. Our impact: ✅ Over 500 schools built 🏫, improving learning outcomes by 40%. ✅ 50% reduction in FGM cases and a 30% increase in school retention for girls through the Kenya Big Dream in the counties of Samburu, West Pokot, Migori and Baringo. ✅ 500,000 smallholder farmers supported, leading to a 40% boost in crop yields and 25% rise in household incomes. ✅ Our water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives have provided clean water to over 2 million people, significantly reducing waterborne diseases by 60% and boosting school attendance by 35%. ✅ Our emergency response efforts have assisted more than 3 million individuals in times of crisis, effectively reducing disaster-related livestock losses by 40%. #WorldVisionKenyaAt50 #TransformingLives #WVKAt50

👋 Meet Methembe, Accountability Monitoring & Evaluation Officer with World Vision Zimbabwe. Methembe's work in Zimbabwe helps assess the effectiveness of strategies, identify areas of improvement, and ensure programming goals and objectives are met. He loves interacting with the community and making sure their voices are heard. "It is and has been my great experience to make sure all staff and stakeholders and communities are able to send through the feedback so that it informs our programming," he says. Methembe chose to pursue his role so he can continue learning how the lives of children and their communities can be best improved. Violence and restrictions on movements have devastated the economy of the West Bank. Hundreds of thousands of families have lost all their income and they are now struggling to put food on the table. World Food Programme estimates that at least 20% of the population of the West Bank will face food insecurity and hunger this winter. We say #ENOUGH. All children have the right to live free of violence and hunger.
