  • 595 Health Workers to be Employed 📌 This week, the Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has commenced the orientation training for new recruits under the Resilient and Sustainable Health Systems (RSSH) Round Seven project. A total of 595 skilled health workers have been identified and will be employed to serve in various health facilities across the country. This week, these professionals, including doctors, nurses, clinical officers, and other healthcare cadres, are undergoing specialized training in the regions of Iringa, Morogoro, and Dodoma to prepare them to deliver quality healthcare services to the citizens in their respective areas. This project, funded by the Global Fund, aims to enhance the efficiency of healthcare service delivery, particularly in the fight against HIV, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Over the three-year period, from April 2024 to December 2026, the project will ensure that healthcare services reach the people more effectively through employment and management of healthcare personnel, as well as improving healthcare delivery systems. #MkapaFellowsProgram #MkapaFoundation #BMF

Benjamin Mkapa's Leadership." The event was held at the Johari Rotana Hotel in Dar es Salaam. The lecture paid tribute to the legacy of H.E. Benjamin Mkapa, who served as the 2nd Chancellor of Cavendish University Uganda from 2014 to 2020. It highlighted his significant contributions to diplomacy, regional integration, and private sector growth during his time as President of Tanzania and beyond. Hon. Prof. Palamagamba Kabudi, Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs of the United Republic of Tanzania, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. The event featured H.E. Ambassador Liberata Mulamula, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation, as one of the panelists, offering reflections on Mkapa’s diplomatic legacy and his commitment to institutional development. The event also brought together staff from the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation, led by their Board Chair, along with friends, colleagues, and family members of the late President, who shared their thoughts on his enduring influence. Beneficiaries of Mkapa Foundation programs were also present to provide testimonies on the impact of Mkapa’s leadership in health and community development initiatives.

  • The Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMF), Ambassador Liberata Mulamula (MP), attended the launch of a book about the life and leadership of the late Edward Moringe Sokoine, former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. The book is titled "Edward Moringe Sokoine: Maisha na Uongozi wake." The launch took place today, September 30, 2024, with the Guest of Honor being the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. The book was written to honor the significant contributions of the late Sokoine to the leadership and development of the nation. The event was attended by various leaders and stakeholders, who paid tribute to the late leader, whose legacy of patriotism and dedicated service continues to inspire current and future generations.
