This journey to #school gets particularly treacherous with strong currents during the rainy season which is another reason school #hostels are so important. Read more about why hostels are vital for girls’ #education here: https://lnkd.in/eYMWNhvd #TDTpriorities #HumanRights #Tanzania

Empowering grassroots communities in rural Tanzania since 1975...
About us
Tanzania Development Trust envisions a future where every person in Tanzania has the opportunity to live a healthy, educated, and empowered life. We believe that sustainable development is key to achieving this vision, and we are committed to working with communities and individuals to make it a reality. We work in rural areas where few other NGOs operate and our priorities are access to water, sustainable agriculture, education and small income generating projects. We are all volunteers so every pound donated goes directly to projects in Tanzania. We are the development arm of Britain Tanzania Society and have been operating since 1975.

Kigwe School in #Dodoma is the premier government primary school for deaf children, providing a curriculum designed to meet their unique needs. For many #deafchildren in rural #Tanzania it is their only beacon of #hope. You can support a child at Kigwe for 3 transformative months for as little as £20. Be someone's hope and donate: https://lnkd.in/e-SR4eS6

Did you know that in #Tanzania until November 2021, #teenagemothers were banned from continuing their #education in public schools. This is still an ongoing problem around the country. At #TDT we have built the #TumainiSchool for girls to enable more teenage moms to complete their schooling. You can read more about the project and donate via the link. Help make a difference to these girls' lives today! https://lnkd.in/eNWyT_Z2

£50 provides #cleanwater for 25 people, so they no longer have to carry dirty water from ponds and streams. At #TDT we support rural local communities to build #watersystems that give them easier access to cleaner, safer #water. We've managed to create this for communities like #Muratambo and you can help us bring this reality to many more Tanzanians living in difficult circumstances. In rural Tanzania, technology can help radically transform education! We help with the delivery of SD cards, projectors, and even solar panels! Many schools have limited books and teachers, so your donation could help so many children gain access to knowledge they would otherwise never learn! https://lnkd.in/eU4yAy3s #tech #education #charity #donate

Tumaini Open School's recent renovation has gone exceptionally well, but it needs much more to help continue its work! Their work to help reintegrate young mothers into the school system is only at its initial stages, and they can do so much more with your help! Visit them or donate at: https://lnkd.in/eyhNmexA #girlseducation #youngmothers #education

Small farmers have a huge burden to feed their families and the world population, however; investments are prioritized and made to only huge companies globally. Mboni ya Vijana Group has great enthusiasm, love and commitment to making small farmers in very remote places produce, process and reach the products to market so the global population benefits. We are happy to go together with all the investors whose interests are to double food access and security. Our Big Give campaign helped raise a massive £3750 for boreholes last month. This means that we can construct boreholes for at least 10 schools! In #ruralTanzania rivers are a key part of daily life, used for #drinkingwater, washing clothes, livestock, or just having a chat. But with #climateChange many rivers are beginning to dry up, resulting in the need to develop alternative supplies. Chamwino Rural District, with a population of around 20,000, wants to establish Community Based Safe Drinking Water Centers, where people can access clean water free of charge. Help us create a well for them by #donating towards our projects: https://lnkd.in/es-7zC4a
