The United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime (UNTOC) has been a vital tool in the global fight against organized crime and protecting the environment from crime-related impacts. Our Executive Secretary, Mecktilder M. M represented us at the 12th COP UN-TOC event in Vienna. She was there to make sure that the voices of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and communities around the world are heard when leaders create or review policies that impact everyday people. She also shared some of TWiMMI’s resilience projects, which aim to support mining communities in standing up against illegal mining practices that harm both people and the environment. Through this, Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI) is helping communities find local solutions and share successful strategies. PS: These pictures are the snapshots of the event.

The Mining Industry boundaries often feel fixed. We are defying the odds by breaking stereotypes and building bridges that create lasting impact. For years, the mining sector has been perceived as a male-dominated arena. With Tanzania Women in Mining and Mineral Industry (TWiMMI) each initiative reshapes the narrative. Empowering women & youth to not only participate. But to lead and guide. From training to mentorships, we are building bridges across generations, geographies, and skill sets. Every training, every event, and every success story makes one thing clear: The mining industry is for everyone. _________________________________________________ PS: If you're not a registered member of TWiMMI, Join us in supporting this mission.
