    Asters Counsel Viktoriya Demydenko took part in a seminar on the key issues of Ukraine's post-war reconstruction. The event, which was organised by the law firm Shin & Kim, took place in Seoul on 04 November 2024. During the presentation, Viktoriya spoke about the key legislative norms and initiatives related to attracting investment to Ukraine. She explained the specifics of industrial parks' regime, significant investments and immediate recovery projects. She also pointed out the peculiarities of the Ukrainian legal system and the major types of contracts in real estate development projects. The participants of the event also discussed the economic situation in Ukraine, trends in reconstruction by the international community, war risk insurance, investments in railways, etc. They also spoke about possible scenarios for the entry of Korean companies into the Ukrainian market, including with the support of government programs and financial institutions, and presented successful cases.

    On 29 October 2024, the 3rd Annual Ukrainian Infrastructure Forum took place, organised by Asters, Herbert Smith Freehills and Strategy Council with the special support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss the most topical issues related to the reconstruction process in Ukraine. 🎤 Asters Senior Partner Armen Khachaturyan moderated the discussion, in which the participants presented a progress report on the reconstruction projects in Ukraine and the country's macroeconomic performance, as well as defined the key priorities for efficient and coordinated reconstruction efforts. 🎤 Asters Partner and Head of London Office Yaroslav Petrov joined the session to discuss the priority sectors where private sector investment can have the greatest positive impact.     Asters' Counsel and Head of IT Industry Group Oksana Petrus spoke at the webinar "Selecting a country for establishing an R&D centre: important aspects to consider", organised jointly with the IT Ukraine Association.     Asters' Partner and Co-Head of Energy & Natural Resources Practice Yaroslav Petrov is re-nominated for the position of Co-Chair of the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC) Renewables Committee. He has over 15 years of legal experience in the energy sector, including various types of renewables and work across different jurisdictions. He has also been an active member and contributor to several well-recognized business associations in Ukraine, including the energy committees of the ACC, the European Business Association and the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association.     On 10 October 2024, the presentation of the report “Legislation Fostering Wind Energy Development in Ukraine” by the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association (the UWEA) took place. The report was drafted within the special project aimed at identifying and removing gaps in existing RES legislation to ensure the effective growth of wind energy in Ukraine. Asters team consisted of Partner Yaroslav Petrov and Counsel Viktoriya Demydenko authored the report. Together with the firm's Counsel Marta Halabala they presented the results of the analysis of the current energy legislation and proposals related to the certain aspects of wind parks construction, obtaining the required permits, distribution of cross-border crossings for RES and electricity export.
