Happy World Teachers' Day 2024! The importance of teachers cannot be overstated. In truth, they deserve to be celebrated every day, not just once a year. Around the world, we come together to recognise those who serve as guiding lights. Many of us hold vivid memories of our favourite teachers from school or university — why? Because they shape our minds, set lasting examples, and make an enduring impact that stays with us long after we’ve left the classroom. Education is a powerful force that transcends borders and cultures. Teachers are the architects of these global connections, building bridges of understanding, collaboration, and shared growth. Through education, they open doors to new possibilities and inspire the next generation of thinkers, creators, and leaders. To all the dedicated teachers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your work carries immense responsibility, but the rewards are boundless. You nurture creativity, ignite exploration, and encourage progress. At BISU, we are especially grateful to the educators standing by our children in Ukraine. You provide them with more than academic knowledge — you instil belief in themselves and offer hope for a brighter tomorrow. It is a privilege to work alongside you. Thank you, teachers, for everything you do. #teachersday #education #britishschool #britishinternationalschool COBIS - Council of British International Schools Global School Alliance International School News Leading Your International School International Teacher Magazine The International Schools Network Colin Bell Rob Ford Prof Dr Ger Graus OBE Heritage International School Tatiana Popa Claire King Rosina Dorelli Angela L. Our priorities are the care and wellbeing of each child, provision of the highest standards of learning and teaching, service to the parents and support for the BISU community as well as caring for school personnel, the possibility of staff development and career growth along with a wonderful working environment. We focus upon achievement, high academic attainment and a curriculum that is broad, balanced and designed to meet a child’s individual needs. BISU is a member of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), which represents over 450 schools and organisations in 80 countries. Working according to COBIS standards means that BISU students obtain the same quality training as students in the UK, the USA, France, Japan or South Korea. BISU has been present in Ukraine for 25 years. Our schools operate in Kyiv and Dnipro and welcome children aged 3-18. While studying in an English-speaking international environment, students receive strong academic training, learn creative and critical thinking, master English at a native English speaker level and develop skills and attitudes necessary for problem solving and being successful in a wider world. Students are assessed when taking the Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE, A level and IB Diploma Program exams. BISU also offers Ukrainian Curriculum for parents who wish their children to earn a national state-standard secondary education certificate. Our teachers and staff create a friendly, warm atmosphere to ensure all students feel that school is a place where they feel safe and can reach their full potential.

BISU Celebrates Remarkable Year of Unity 2023-2024 We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the 2024 academic year at BISU, a year aptly named the "Year of Unity." The BISU community navigated challenges together, emerging stronger and celebrating achievements with a series of end-of-year events. The Pechersk school held an "Oscars"-themed graduation, awarding students and teachers for academic and extracurricular excellence. Graduates received their international A Levels qualifications as well as Ukrainian diplomas, marking a significant milestone. In addition, a festive event filled with activities marked the achievements of our Primary students, with special congratulations to the Year 6 students transitioning to Secondary school. Similar celebrations were held at the Dnipro school, acknowledging the incredible efforts of students and teachers throughout the year. We are incredibly proud of our resilient community and their unwavering dedication and courage. Here's to many brighter years ahead at BISU! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our international partners for their unwavering support throughout this period. With your valuable help, we have achieved so much and look forward to the future with optimism and faith as we gear up for the next school year. https://lnkd.in/eJ65w_gs #education #britishschool #ukraine #britishinternationalschool COBIS - Council of British International Schools Colin Bell Rob Ford Jim Knight John Rolfe MBE Prof Dr Ger Graus OBE Jonathan Harper FRSA Darren Coxon Pam Mundy Anton Zastavnyi Pamela Crowley-Farah, M.Ed Glenda Perks James Clarke Suzanne Kyle Claire King International School News David Boddy Huw Price Dr Nick Jackson Tatiana Popa

"For educators seeking a truly fulfilling experience, helping children in Ukraine is an unmatched opportunity. It’s more than just a career; it’s a chance to make a real difference in their lives during this challenging time", says Matthew Wren in an interview for School Management Plus. In November 2023, British educator Mr. Matthew joined The British International School, Ukraine in Dnipro. While the situation in Ukraine is challenging, his experience has been deeply rewarding. Mr. Matthew shares his unique perspective on teaching during this pivotal time. History is being made here, and education and BISU are part of it. We are incredibly grateful to our international and Ukrainian colleagues and partners, both those working on-site and online, for their courage and dedication in supporting BISU's mission of providing quality education for Ukrainian children. Thank you, Irena Barker, for publishing Mr. Matthew's insightful story. #education #britishschool #internationalteachers #ukraine COBIS - Council of British International Schools Colin Bell Jonathan Harper FRSA James Clarke Rob Ford Heritage International School Suzanne Kyle Claire King Ed Kirwan Efraim Lerner Dr Elizabeth Hidson Mina Patel David Boddy Dave Strudwick Anton Zastavnyi Pam Mundy Pamela Crowley-Farah, M.Ed Louise Bell Dr Fiona Aubrey-Smith John Rolfe MBE Dr Hannah Burke-Tomlinson Maeve O'Leary Jim Knight The PIE Andy Homden Prof Dr Ger Graus OBE Lisa Phillipps FCCA Huw Price International School News Dr Nick Jackson Tatiana Popa Amy Zhang张远远

Happy birthday, BISU! Today marks 27 years since we first threw open our doors in 1997. We've kept those doors open ever since, through sunshine and storms, driven by our firm belief in education's transformative power and in the brighter future our students will build. We pioneered British-style education in Ukraine, and our British, international and Ukrainian diplomas ensure children graduate with qualifications recognised around the world, providing a solid foundation for success on their chosen path. Our teaching staff is amazing, embracing Ukrainian professionals and dedicated international educators with some even working with us on-site. Furthermore, our international team continues to expand, upholding our culture of excellence and inspiration. Backed by our global partners, BISU students embark on impactful projects and initiatives, forging cross-cultural bonds and a true sense of global citizenship. In today's interconnected world, fluency in English unlocks countless possibilities. We empower our students with native-level skills alongside the global perspectives and mindset essential for their tomorrow: responsibility, creativity, critical thinking, sound decision-making, independence, and a passion for problem-solving. Above all, BISU is a place where optimism thrives and learning is joyful, fueled by the brave and talented individuals who achieve the extraordinary every day. We are living proof that education transforms lives and pledge to keep our doors open for generations to come. #ukraine #britishschool #internationaleducation #education #britishinternationalschool #bisu #schools #internationalteachers Colin Bell Rob Ford Dr Nick Jackson Jim Knight Angela L.
