What's better than AI? Several AIs, especially when they work as a team 🌪 Multi-agent AI (MAS) breaks down a user's query into separate parts, allowing for faster solutions. Each agent independently handles specific tasks, shares information, and collaborates in decision-making to achieve common goals. As Andrew Ng highlights, AI "agents" can drive significant progress, enhancing systems like language models. MAS adapts and evolves in response to new data or changing environments, and adding more agents allows the system to effectively manage larger or more complex tasks. The presence of multiple agents ensures the system remains operational even if one fails. ElifTech's AI Lead, Serhii Skoromets, shares how he used MAS and NLP for an investment advisory solution that simplifies portfolio analysis and investment advice, connecting users directly to personalized guidance through a chatbot on the investment dashboard. It uses a three-agent system to provide precise and personalized advice. 1. Supervisor agent is the initial handler of user requests that determines whether to address it directly or route it to the appropriate specialized agents for further processing. 2. Portfolio analyst agent accesses the user database to analyze details such as risk profile, number of stocks, and portfolio valuation. It uses this personalized data to generate investment suggestions that align perfectly with the user's financial strategy and goals. 3. Stock analyst agent analyzes current stock market conditions, news, and sentiment. It provides insights on market trends and potential impacts on investments, offering a comprehensive outlook that aids in informed decision-making. In other words, while it’s simple to say “do a portfolio check,” in practice, this involves a series of interconnected actions. This is where MAS can be beneficial. After peaking at 32% in 2020, cancellation rates have been steadily dropping ever since. Despite cancellation rates reducing year-on-year, 1-in-5 bookings properties are still canceled (SiteMinder data). What’s more, analyzing Booking.com data reveals that online bookings make up 60% of all hotel bookings, and the median lead time for cancellations is 15-30 days before check-in. Notably, couples cancel 66.7% of their bookings, whereas families only 11%. Our AI team with Serhii Skoromets built an AI model that goes over generative capabilities and predicts booking cancellations. Built on Google Cloud Vertex AI and AutoML, the app lets hotels predict cancellations easily by analyzing customer data such as how soon guests book, how long they stay, guest information, previous bookings and cancellations, room preferences and prices, special requests, and seasonal trends. It cuts through complex data, spotting trends and influences automatically. More importantly, it automatically picks and trains the best models for accurate forecasts, enabling users to make accurate predictions with minimal technical knowledge. Traditional methods like historical data analysis and strict policies fall short in dynamic markets. Using insights from predictive AI, hotels can offer flexible cancellation policies or off-season promotions to reduce cancellations and attract more guests, resulting in a 15 to 25 percent potential EBIT improvement (McKinsey & Company estimates).
