What barriers still exist in #Ukraine for women's professional realization? And what barriers do they create for themselves on the way to leadership positions? Today, Evgeniya Blyznyuk, sociologist, CEO&Founder of Gradus Research, spoke about significant trends in these issues in the context of women's entrepreneurship, based on a survey conducted jointly with biasless world, at the UKSIBBANK #Sustainable #Business #Forum. “We see several important insights. The first is that women in Ukraine have little awareness of themselves as a vulnerable group whose rights need to be protected. This is complemented by the second fact: most of those who face barriers in their professional lives do not talk about them because they consider them irrelevant. The third fact somewhat evens out this balance, because we see that in the third year of full-scale war, women are paying more attention and time to themselves, looking for a new balance between high workload, responsibilities, and the desire to grow in their careers and as leaders,” the speaker said. Today at the New Food Summit 2024, Evgeniya Blyznyuk, sociologist, CEO&Founder of Gradus Research, presented the results of a special survey “The Menu of #War: How does a Full-Scale Invasion Change the #Eating #Habits of Ukrainians?”. Here are the key insights from the survey: ✔️ Half of the surveyed #Ukrainians (49%) have changed their eating habits since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. ✔️ The factors that have the greatest impact on the eating habits of Ukrainians during the war are: rising food prices, continuous stress, and enemy attacks with their consequences. ✔️ Stress (83%) ranks first among the factors influencing changes in eating habits. ✔️ Due to the rise in food prices during the war, almost two-thirds (64%) of respondents choose cheaper products, and almost half of respondents cook at home more often (48%). ✔️ Blackouts also have a significant impact on the eating habits of Ukrainians. Respondents are more likely to prefer long-term storage products (59%) and cold food (50%). ✔️ The war forced Ukrainians to cut their food budget. These changes are most noticeable among respondents in the 56+ age group. ✔️ Confectionery (49%) and fish and seafood (48%) are among the categories on which people save the most. On World #Mental #Health Day, we'd like to share a few figures that describe the attitude of #Ukrainians towards #psychological help. 40% of Ukrainians surveyed have felt the need for psychological help in the last six months, with 47% of women and 32% of men. However, only 8% of respondents have sought help from a specialist, despite the increase in the number of visits over the past six months. This is evidenced by the results of the third wave of the survey conducted by Gradus Research as part of the All-Ukrainian Mental Health Program, an initiative of First Lady Olena Zelenska. What prevents people from getting support? The main barriers: ▪️29% believe that their problems are not serious enough, ▪️25% are convinced that they can cope on their own, ▪️23% believe that it is too expensive, ▪️22% believe that someone else needs it more, ▪️20% do not believe in the effectiveness of the assistance. 79% of #Ukrainians surveyed today are working despite the challenges of wartime, with 58% of them working more than 30 hours a week. This is shown by the data of an express survey conducted by Gradus Research in cooperation with Deloitte Ukraine. Three quarters of respondents (73%) have changed their #profession. The majority of gender and age groups have experience of changing their profession. Among the 45+ age group, as many as 79% of respondents have changed their career. While young people (58%) and residents of the eastern part of #Ukraine (68%) have changed their occupation the least. #Human #Capital Crisis: Will #Reskilling Women and Older People Help #Ukraine? Ukraine is already experiencing a shortage of human resources, which will be exacerbated by a full-scale war and the resulting migration. One of the solutions that can stabilize the situation is the reskilling of various socio-demographic groups (women, the older population, etc.). On September 25, at the IX Conductors of Changes Forum, Evgeniya Blyznyuk, CEO&Founder ofGradus Research presented the results of a joint survey with Deloitte Ukraine on whether #Ukrainians are ready to change their profession, what are the barriers and drivers to this, whether Ukrainian #women consider retraining for stereotypically “male” professions, and whether Ukrainians are ready to work after reaching retirement age and under what conditions. The survey results and full report are available at https://lnkd.in/esD6GH8K

How do #Ukrainian #women overcome #gender #inequality and the challenges of war on their way to professional fulfillment? Today at SHE Congress, Evgeniya Blyznyuk, sociologist, CEO&Founder of Gradus Research, presented a survey conducted in collaboration with biasless world that answers this question. Here are the key insights: 🌟 Ukrainian women are paying more and more attention to self-care, despite the growing level of stress. 🌟 Unfortunately, cases of inappropriate behavior towards women at work are still occurring. And women themselves sometimes create barriers to their professional fulfillment: by believing they lack confidence and determination, courage, or knowledge. And this is a typical pattern of behavior that needs to be addressed. After all, Ukrainian women are ready to develop, can hold leadership positions and become successful professionals. 🌟 The level of respect and equality for women is improving - at least, there is a positive trend, but there is definitely still work to be done. #Ukrainian society is becoming more #tolerant of foreigners The #migration shifts caused by the full-scale invasion, the experience of #refugees and living in unfamiliar cultures have left their mark on Ukrainians' attitudes toward migrants from other countries. For example, the share of Ukrainians who have a good attitude toward foreigners who have come to work in #Ukraine has increased from 40% to 45% compared to last year. 42% of respondents have a generally good attitude toward foreigners. 29% remain neutral, while 7% are wary. The trend toward greater tolerance among the population means that Ukraine will become more open to foreign labor migration, which may be one of the factors in overcoming the human capital crisis that is exacerbated by the war and migration. How #Ukrainian women achieve work–life balance in a war zone? The typical concept of work–life balance inherently implies equilibrium, where work and personal life are intertwined without displacing each other. This is the ideal scenario — but what happens to this model when it’s disrupted by war? Under the pressure of the full-scale war, Ukrainian women are adapting to continue living and enjoying life despite the challenges of war. How? Read the new opinion piece for The CEO Magazine Global by Evgeniya Blyznyuk, CEO&Founder of Gradus Research, to get the answer: https://lnkd.in/eFnAx7hT The opinion is based on the survey data conducted by Gradus Research in collaboration with Iryna Rubis and biasless world.
