I am excited to share again, that I will be co-convening the panel, "Economy, Digitalization, and Empowerment" at DIGITALFEM 2024, a hybrid conference hosted at the University of Granada on October 17th and 18th, 2024. Our panel aims to explore the transformative potential of digital technologies in supporting women's strategies for economic and social autonomy. We also seek to identify avenues for future research and intervention in this area. Presentations are welcome on topics ranging from gender-responsive policies in the digital era to digital education for women. Professor Sutherland, who is an acclaimed academic at the Institute of African Studies at the University of Ghana, is a writer, educationalist, and human rights activist. She is the daughter of celebrated playwright and cultural activist, Efua Sutherland 🇬🇭 (1924-1996) and the Pan-African liberation activist, Bill Sutherland 🇺🇸 (1918–2010).
