Founder at Duvet Lady | Sleep Wellness | Mothers Raising Sons | G4G | BNI

It is my joy to serve as the first President of the BNI Achievers Chapter in Uganda. When I'm asked about my role, I quickly tell people that I chair the weekly meetings. What I normally don't get to share is that in those meetings, I'm privileged to sit with 40+ successful business owners and to tell them what I do at Duvet Lady and how they can help me grow my business and myself. I have received mentorship and handholding, business referrals and great relationships, and what I now know is that I can't go wrong with a community like this one. From my business to these generous givers, thank you! To the business owners that were recognised for passing the biggest referrals last month, we celebrate you. Here is to doing bigger business in April. Onward and upward. Remembering the BNI Achievers Uganda Visitor Day on Thursday 28th March 2024. • Our Director Mrs Grace Kigundu who is a member of the @bniuganda talked about Mental Health and Addiction Treatment during one of their connect and took people through how the state of mental health and addiction goes about. She carries on to say, "It all begins with emotions, which tells us what and how to think, which in turn determines what we do, how we feel because feelings change each day that passes by and how to deal with how we feel because some people feel better when they do a certain activity like watching K- drama, going for spa to mention but a few of which some can be of great impact and some not". Mrs Grace Kigundu under this topic talked about the state of well-being in which individuals can realize their own abilities and cope with stress of normal life and make meaningful contributions to their communities. "Poor Mental Health Manifests in Different ways: Anxiety, depression, stress, mood disorders and more severe conditions like bipolar, schizophrenia … This is where Chapters comes in. Seeking help from mental health professionals, such as therapists, counselors, or psychiatrists, is essential for those facing mental health challenges. Additionally, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise, proper nutrition, and adequate sleep, can also contribute to overall mental health" , Mrs Grace concluded We as chaptersuganda.com are here to take you through all journeys of recovery. Believe you can start it and that will be the beginning of change BNI (Business Network International) #mentalhealth #addiction #mentalhealthrecovery

  • PROMOTING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS -A vital Role for Recovery. In today’s society, mental health awareness is more crucial than ever. As an Administrator at Chapters Recovery Center, it’s my responsibility to not only support those on their journey to receovery but also to advocate for broader awareness and understanding of mental health issues. Rebecca continues to say,At Chapters Recovery center, all begins with a deep dive into the clients. As soon as we receive a client at Chapters, we conduct a holistic, In-depth Psychiatric and Psychological Assessment. This helps our professional team to develop a personalized treatment plan that guides throughout the stay of a particular client. Below are the key areas we focus on as a way to promote mental well-being: Destigmatizing Mental Health Many individuals still face stigma when it comes to mental health challenges. By raising awareness, we can help break down these barriers and create a more accepting environment for those seeking help. There we focus on fighting stigma through continuous counselling sessions provided by our professionals. Encouraging Early Intervention Education about Mental Health can lead to early recognition of symptoms and encourage individuals to seek help before their condition worsens. This can ultimately save lives and improve long-term outcomes. Supporting holistic Recovery Recovery is not just about addressing substance abuse; it also involves addressing underlying mental health issues. By promoting awareness, we emphasize the importance of holistic treatment approaches that address both addiction and mental health simultaneously. Empowering Individuals When people understand mental health better, they feel more empowered to take control of their own well-being. By providing information and resources, we enable individuals to make informed decisions about their mental health and seek the support they need. This can be done through encouraging individuals to read different inspirational books. Building Supportive Communities Mental Health Awareness efforts help foster supportive communities where individuals feel understood, accepted, and supported in their recovery journeys. This sense of community can be a powerful factor in maintaining long-term wellness. She concludes saying, "at chapters we are committed to not only providing top-quality care for those struggling with addiction but also to advocating for mental health awareness on a broader scale. This is done through in-depth psychiatric and psychological assessments, Education programs, counselling sessions including individual and family sessions, Art therapy, After care programs, and community partnerships to mention a few. We strive to make a positive impact and create a more mental health society for all. BNI (Business Network International)
