Last week was quite an exciting week at the Deal Flow Facility and here is why: 1. We published our Q3 Deal Book, featuring six investable businesses seeking a combined total of USD 11 million in funding. 2. Partnering with Nordic Impact Funds, we hosted a cocktail event that provided a platform for some of the entrepreneurs we support to meet and engage with investors from Nordic Impact Funds. This event highlighted DFF's ongoing efforts to expand its investor network and create opportunities for growth-stage businesses in Uganda to connect with potential investors. 3. Our Masterclass series continued with a session on valuations titled "Scaling with Precision: Valuation Techniques for Growth-Stage Companies." The session was led by David Ivan Wangolo, CFA, George Jato Otim, CFA, ACCA and our very own Bbobbo Rugumayo, attracting over 50 entrepreneurs. 4. We also participated in the 6th FITSPA Annual Conference 2024- FITSPA Uganda, where Brenda Amony was a panelist in a session titled "The Pathways to Funding for FinTechs." Drawing from DFF’s experience, Brenda shared insights on the challenges tech companies face in accessing private capital and how they can better position themselves for funding opportunities. “Investment in technology, be it Fintech, Edutech, or Agritech, remains a grey area in Uganda for both local and foreign investors.
