At six years old, growing up in a vulnerable community, feeding ourselves was a daily struggle. My mother would collect remnants of food from the local market to feed her five children. Back then, our practice of reducing food waste was born not out of a commitment to #sustainability, but out of sheer #necessity. Little did I know that this personal experience mirrored a global crisis, today, 40% of food produced globally is wasted. Our lifestyle may have been driven by survival, but it laid the foundation for something much greater: zero waste living. I AM BETTY OSEI BONSU AND YOU CAN CALL ME THE STORYTELLER. Now imagine with me! You are sitting in a room and these words come out: It’s a #newmonth, World Urban Forum 12 Egypt is on its way, UNFCCC UN COP29 Azerbaijan is on its way London Climate Technology Show , and many others are also coming up . These events underscore the global commitment to addressing #climatechange and #urbansustainability. However, despite these efforts, #CO₂ levels continue to rise, and #pollution remains a pressing issue. The question persists: when will we achieve the #solutions we seek? Ultimately, meaningful change hinges on #individual will and collective #action. While global conferences set the stage, it's our daily #choices and commitments that drive progress.
