IDI Flemings project kick off & One Health workshop Extending DHIS2 to new use cases is what HISP Uganda is good at and always ready to try out new implementations beyond Health. HISP Uganda recently met with Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) Uganda to advance our work on AMR surveillance in Uganda under the Fleming Fund initiative. Following our productive discussions, we sent out a follow-up letter outlining a checklist for requirements gathering, and we are currently in the process of collecting those essential requirements. Our goal is to develop a robust Data Integration and Sharing System (DISIS) that unifies health data across human, animal, and environmental sectors. We are excited to see how our collaboration evolves as we tackle antimicrobial resistance together

Capacity Building of DHIS2 implementers Remains key to HISP Uganda and organising tailored DHIS2 capacity building DHIS2 courses is what we have mastered. Recently, the UGANDA AIDS COMMISSION (UAC) staff (M&E, IT, and program technical staff) were trained by the DHIS2 experts at HISP Uganda Training Centre. UAC plans to further add DHIS2 instances and more use-cases to its existing warehouse. To support this, the training focused on equipping staff with the skills necessary to customize DHIS2, including adding new modules, managing data entry, conducting analysis, and generating reports. The training was a success, and it is expected that new modules will be integrated into the system to enhance workflow and management.
