Through our tireless work on raising issues of Gender based violence and violence against children on World Bank financed project, the Washington DC based Institution responded; - Created a Global TaskForce on Gender based violence to advise the Bank on how to tackle GBV in their financed project. - All the Bank's financed projects around the world have a component of addressing Gender Based Violence and violence against children. In our recent Post-International Day of the Girl Celebration, we were inspired by the resilience and determination of young girls who joined us under the theme, “Girls’ Vision for the Future. The event addressed critical issues like #ChildMarriage and #TeenagePregnancies, which affect so many girls in our communities. Hearing directly from girls about their dreams and struggles reminded us why we work toward a world where every girl has the freedom and opportunity to thrive.

In October 2024, I had the privilege of attending the World Bank Annual Meeting, representing my organization, Joy for Children Uganda. These high-level policy discussions provided an invaluable platform to engage with pressing global issues such as education, health, gender equality, the empowerment of women and girls, technology transfer, and the impacts of artificial intelligence. Other critical topics included climate change, conflict, fragile states, transport, affordable housing, green jobs, and the green economy—all informed by the latest data, insightful panelists, and well-developed action plans. Now, as we move beyond the discussions, it’s time to turn these recommendations into meaningful action.

Today marked the end of our two-day Capacity Building Workshop for @GirlsFirstFund grantees, focused on enhancing communication skills. Over these two days, we covered essential topics like social media management, website development, newsletter creation, photography, videography, advocacy storytelling, and crafting communication strategies. It’s been an enriching experience full of learning, collaboration, and practical skills that will empower grantees to amplify their advocacy work that contribute towards ending child marriage. #UnitedAgainstChildMarriage
