EmpowerHer & Sustain. At the heart of the EmpowerHer & Sustain initiative is the belief that empowered women and girls can change the world. Every year, we come together in a chosen community, creating a space where girls can learn, share, and celebrate their strengths and potential. This year, our annual gathering took place in the vibrant Ngombere village in Mukono District, where the management of Ngombere Light graciously hosted us. The EmpowerHer & Sustain initiative goes beyond providing menstrual hygiene kits and empowering women with the skills to craft reusable pads. It is about fostering connections, building partnerships, and nurturing a community that values dignity, health, and sustainability. Every meeting is an opportunity to deepen our impact, reach more girls, and grow our network of partners who share our vision. This year’s event in Ngombere was nothing short of inspiring. We met with local girls and women, engaging in meaningful discussions about menstrual hygiene management, sustainability, and empowerment. Together, we celebrated the progress we've made and the bright future we are building. The event was a powerful reminder of the collective strength we harness when we come together with a shared purpose. Our annual gatherings are more than just a celebration; they are a cornerstone of our mission. By meeting with new communities each year, we continue to expand our reach, ensuring that no girl or woman is left behind. These partnerships are essential to our growth, allowing us to touch the lives of countless individuals and make a lasting difference. We are requesting our friends, well-wishers, and everyone who cares about children to help us in this crisis; we are out of food, and some of our 516 children are missing meals or only have porridge. We urgently need $2500 to buy posho, beans, and rice. PSM has been struggling since losing our sponsors during the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we have been promised funding from several organizations, the help may not arrive until September or October. The situation is dire, and we are fighting to survive.
