We’re thrilled to announce the six projects that have been selected for the second cohort of the CFA programme. They come from the energy, e-mobility, Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU), water and waste management sectors and have the potential to benefit communities across the country. The project developers will receive support and advice from experts tailored to increase their chances of attracting investment from Ugandan, regional and international investors. The capacity building phase has already kicked off with the selected projects attending a Gender, Equality, and Social Inclusion webinar delivered by our expert Vidya Naidu. We are thrilled to have hosted the first event of the British Chamber of Commerce Uganda generously supported by KPMG 🇺🇬 exploring the many opportunities and benefits of the UK-Uganda economic relationship. Uganda is a country of remarkable potential, with a GDP growth projected at 6%, driven by thriving sectors such as agriculture, oil & gas, digital services, telecommunications, etc. As a nation rich in natural resources and with a young, ambitious population, Uganda is strategically positioned for long-term growth. Coupled with strong investments in infrastructure, energy, and UCT, the country offers an attractive environment for business and investment, making it a key partner for the UK. The longstanding relationship between the UK and Uganda has been a powerful driver of prosperity for both nations. Built on a foundation of historical ties and strengthened by decades of economic cooperation, this partnership continues to evolve, addressing global challenges like sustainability, poverty reduction and shared SDG commitments. The UK’s ongoing support for private sector development, coupled with Uganda’s position as a leader in coffee, dairy products , organic agriculture and growing opportunities in trade and investment, highlight the mutual benefits of deepening this relationship.
