  • We are delighted to host a team from The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF) for a donor visit to Uganda. This visit offers a valuable opportunity to showcase the impact of our collaborative efforts in improving sanitation and hygiene across seven districts - Buikwe, Buyende, Kabarole, Kamuli, Kayunga, Kole, and Luuka- through the #Accelerating #Access #to #Improved #Sanitation #and #Hygiene #Services #using #Market-#Based #Approaches #in #Uganda project. As part of the donor visit, we had a courtesy call to the Kamuli District Local Government, where we were warmly received by district officials, including the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), District Health Officer (DHO), Assistant District Health Officer (ADHO), and District Water Officer (DWO). Their support and leadership have been instrumental in advancing our shared mission. We also conducted a field visit to Busanga A village, Magogo Sub County, Kamuli District, where we engaged with households that have embraced sanitation improvement under the Market-based sanitation Implementation approach. It was inspiring to see new sanitation facilities being constructed and existing ones being upgraded from basic to safely managed, demonstrating the community's commitment to better sanitation, hygiene, and health practices. We were particularly impressed by the Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) groups, which are empowering community members to enhance and improve their sanitation facilities through access to loans. This sustainable model not only improves health outcomes but also fosters financial resilience within the community. Seeing the positive impact of our work in Kamuli District reaffirms the importance of our partnership with The Sanitation and Hygiene Fund and the dedication of our teams on the ground. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we serve.
