Great to see the Fliegl Ejector Trailer in action on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass! We're excited to be working with BEAR Scotland and Transport Scotland on this trial. Innovations like this are crucial in improving efficiency and durability in our projects, and we're proud to be part of this initiative. Looking forward to seeing the positive impact this will have on Scotland's roads.

BEAR Scotland, in conjunction with Tarmac and Transport Scotland, is currently trialling a new type of vehicle to deliver asphalt to resurfacing sites – the Fliegl Ejector Trailer. These trailers unload asphalt via an ejector mechanism, pushing the material directly into the paver rather than tipping it in. This allows for the asphalt temperature to remain more consistent during discharge, minimising the risk of pockets of cooler material developing, which can lead to potholes forming prematurely. The trailer’s body, floor, front and rear are also all fully insulated, allowing the material’s temperature to be easily regulated and allowing for longer haul distances. The trailers were most recently used on the A720 Edinburgh City Bypass.

That’s a wrap for today, Day 3 on Mark’s project and the team have had an early finish, Floyd and his partner din have wired the bathroom and moved all the feeds. The team will be back tomorrow when the rest of the materials will be delivered to site🔧 This project will transform the bathroom into a spacious, accessible wet room with a large shower and fold-down seat, making it safer and easier for Mark to use. The room will be widened to improve accessibility, giving Mark the freedom and security he needs. That’s where Band of Builders steps in! This project isn’t just about construction—it’s about giving Mark back his independence and peace of mind. This wouldn’t be possible without our volunteers, companies donating materials and our project sponsor Tarmac. #BandofBuilders #MarksProject #PracticalProjects #TogetherStronger

Colne Valley Viaduct update: Successful parapet installation over local road Last night, our Colne Valley Viaduct Finishes team successfully completed parapet installation and stitch construction over a local road in Harefield. The road had been closed overnight to complete the works and we’re pleased to confirm the team completed the works ahead of schedule and was able to re-open the road for public use four days earlier than originally planned. Another great example of collaboration and team work from multiple functions within Align and our supply chain partners!
