    We had the pleasure at Gresham's School of welcoming Romario Ellis, 20-year-old entrepreneur, apprenticeships advocate, and the Founder of Outer Circle to share his journey with degree apprenticeships. Romario’s story highlighted his path from an apprentice to establishing Outer Circle a dedicated platform empowering young people to gain confidence, skills, and understanding to launch their careers through apprenticeships with supportive, influential employers. Joining Romario was OG Izzy Reading an apprentice with  JP Morgan in Global Finance and Business Management. Together, they delivered an insightful and authentic look into the very real and successful route of undertaking a degree apprenticeship.     How can I understand my potential as an apprentice??   In a world where it is so easy to compare yourself to others, the true question should be...   What makes you, you? 💡   What personal qualities set you apart?    These are the things that matter to employers. They’re not just looking for qualifications on paper—they want to see your authentic self and how you align with their values. 🤝   But it’s not just about you, it’s also about how you fit with the company. Ask yourself:   How can your strengths complement the company’s goals? What value do you bring beyond technical skills?   Authenticity matters, both in life and in the workplace. So take a moment to reflect on who you are, what you stand for, and where you want to go. #earlycareers #community #apprentice

    I’m turning 20 this weekend (damn, I’m getting old 😅)… As my teenage years come to an end- I’ve been reflecting on the challenges and wins that shaped me: - Age 17: Felt abandoned in college but took control, discovered apprenticeships, & secured a degree apprenticeship at a Fortune 500 company in data & AI 👨🏾💻. - Age 18: Faced isolation with no apprentice community to rely on🤷🏽♂️. - Solution: Founded Outer Circle 🌐, connecting 500+ apprentices and hosting 45+ events, including a black-tie gala at a Premier Stadium in 6 months 🎉. - Age 19: Faced redundancy and questioned my journey but stayed committed to my vision 💪🏽, taking on OC full-time! Impact: Outer Circle now supports a community of thousands of students & apprentices, and we’re working with 100+ schools across the country‼️ Reflecting on my journey: One thing has become abundantly clear: My biggest motivator is ensuring the next generation doesn’t have to navigate the same obstacles I faced 🚧. Having lived through the ups and downs of the Apprenticeship experience 🔄 I founded OuterCircle with a mission to create a smoother & equal path for others It’s time we transform the apprenticeship landscape 🌍 Making it a more supportive 🤝 and rewarding experience for everyone involved.     OuterCircle Event Recap – What a Week! 🚀 This past week has been incredible for the OuterCircle community, and we wanted to take a moment to recap the highlights! Here's what went down: 🌟 Apprentice Games Night – September 28th 🌟 We had over 50+ apprentices come together at Draughts Dalston for an unforgettable night of games, food, and networking! 🎲  From friendly competition to new friendships, it was the perfect mix of fun and networking. 🌐 CV Enhancement Webinar – October 1st 🌐 More than 140+ aspiring apprentices tuned in to our CV webinar, where they learned top tips on how to craft the perfect CV for apprenticeship opportunities. We covered everything from tailoring your CV to showcasing skills that stand out to employers.     Employers, it's time to check in with your apprentices.   We're near the end of September, and while new apprentice starters are hopefully settling in, it's essential to ask: Have you checked in on both your new and existing apprentices?   Sometimes, the focus on new starters can leave current apprentices feeling unheard or struggling.    Your check-ins should not: ❌ Be limited to just new apprentices ❌Occur only once a year ❌Be solely initiated by the apprentice   As an employer, you made the choice to bring apprentices on board. It's your responsibility to ensure they receive the support they need to succeed.   This support goes beyond initial training—it's about ongoing development, guidance, and being available to listen to their concerns or challenges.   Everyone, not just apprentices, can appreciate a regular check-in or catch-up to ensure everyone is on the same page.   Remember, the success of your apprentices reflects on the success of your business. 📈 Consistent support can make all the difference in their development and your company's future.
