10 or More has been a proud member of beam since we incorporated in 2019. Beam is the association representing business leaders and their companies in the business events, accommodation and meetings sector. Did you know that the events industry brings £61.6 billion to the UK economy each year? Today our MD Debbie Robinson is attending the beam annual All Members Meeting, this year taking place at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa. The event is an opportunity to spend the day and evening with other agency owners and a large number of UK hoteliers and venues, a great opportunity to gain valuable insights and exchange ideas to help shape our industry.

As August draws to a close we are now entering peak conference, trade-show and corporate events season in the UK, which runs between September and November. We always advise our clients to book as soon as possible for this time of year, and to the consider that high hotel occupancy levels from corporate events can have a bearing on hotel availability and rates. We have many wonderful clients, but one of our longest and most loyal clients is the fabulous band Metronomy. We have really enjoyed looking after their tour hotel accommodation since we launched #10orMore back in 2019. We were approached recently to see if we could help source some donations of hotel accommodation in London for a fundraiser this weekend, dreamt up by the most amazing 8 year old boy Ravi, who is the son of one of the band. The #RavisDream fundraiser this weekend is a fashion show where all the models are young people who have (or have had) brain tumours. Ravi was the winner of the Child of Courage award at the 2023 Pride of Britain Awards, and he has a dream of raising £250,000 for brain tumour charities, having been affected by a tumour himself. Last year he began his fundraising with a version of ‘A Million Dreams’ from The Greatest Showman that featured people like Paloma Faith, Damon Albarn, Bastille and Metronomy with cameos in the video from Coldplay, Mary Berry, Hugh Jackman and more.
