Had a lovely morning at the Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning at Nelsons. There was a great turnout, the company was great as always, and the cakes were out of this world! Thank you for the invite and I hope plenty of money was raised for such a wonderful cause. #Charity #Networking

Last Friday we attended the annual summer BBQ party at Dodds Solicitors LLP. In traditional fashion it was great food, great drink but above all great company and the perfect way to end a busy week. Thank you Ashwin Topiwala for the invitation and for doing a great job handling the BBQ once again, and thank you to everyone at Dodds for your usual hospitality and making us so welcome. #SummerBBQ #Tradition #2NewStreetChambers

Sally Barnett has recently received this wonderful thank you from her client which is a fine example of the service each and every one of the barristers at 2 New Street provides. "Dearest Sally, I didn’t quite get to say thank you properly yesterday as it was a rollercoaster of a day. Thank you so much for your help, you were so kind and you have a lovely calming aura about you. I am glad I had you as my Counsel. I will most definitely recommend you to my family and friends, if they require such services. Lots of warm wishes" #2NewStreetChambers #ClientCare

Highlighting New Street Chambers’ commitment to the local community, Hannah Fountain, in her capacity as a trustee for CALS (Leicester Community Advice and Law Centre), last night attended De Montfort University for the official launch event of CALS becoming part of the Law Centre Network. Guest speakers included Baroness Brenda Hale and the City Mayor, Sir Peter Soulsby. The Designated Family Judge for Leicester, Her Honour Judge Patel, District Judge Asjad and District Judge Mason were also in attendance, alongside Councillors and staff from Leicester City Council, the local legal community, funders, CALS’ community partners and professionals from De Montfort University and Leicester University. It was a fantastic and inspiring evening bringing together the local community, topped off with a keynote speech given by Lady Hale. CALS is a not-for-profit organisation providing free information and advice on debt, housing and welfare benefits in Leicester. Yesterday evening Sally Barnett attended her first meeting as a newly appointed member of the governing body of North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College (NWSLC), followed by an exquisite meal prepared and served by students of the award winning catering department in its very own 'in college' restaurant premises. With seven Campus’s in total, Sally was drawn to the College as it recognised as one of the best providers in Coventry, Warwickshire and Leicestershire. It is continually investing in new ways of learning and accessibility to high quality education in a thriving and supportive setting, which as we know, plays a key role in the outcome for every child. Sally had a fantastic evening, meeting fellow members and staff of the college and looks forward to supporting the college alongside her continuing full-time time practise at the Bar. #NWSLC #Education #IndustryFocusedLearning
