Oliver Schepisi at Nuclear Transport Solutions (NTS) is talking about his experience with RailSmart ORS, the online rostering system that monitors the fatigue and risk levels for all rail staff, based on their actual working hours. The system keeps rail workers safe by setting out rosters which take fatigue into account, meaning there’s no risk of the team being overworked. Yesterday was the 3Squared Ltd RailSmart EDS User Group at the National Railway Museum in York. I was so busy I only took one photo all day and it isn't really that relevant to the event but never mind! It was a fantastic day talking about competency management including tips and techniques for improving standardisation, integrating training management, using data for ongoing CMS improvement, continual competency assessment through evidence gathering - including my personal area on route knowledge retention - and a look ahead to the future.
