As #BlackHistoryMonth comes to a close, we share a glimpse of our recent event, which brought together the 4PB family in a vibrant celebration of African and Caribbean cultures. This unique approach to #DiversityandInclusion training, led by Sheba Montserrat, embraced this year's theme of "#ReclaimingNarratives" by immersing members, pupils and staff in a memorable exploration of heritage and history, featuring dance, poetry, and an interactive quiz, all of which retold the stories and reclaimed the narrative of Modern Black British History. A huge thanks to Sheba Montserrat for joining us on the day and delivering such an enlightening session!

𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲: Andrew Powell appeared in Re Z (Foreign Surrogacy): [2024] EWFC 304 on behalf of the child. One of the key issues in the case was whether the applicants' conduct amounted to a breach of public policy which may have prevented a parental order from being made. The court made a parental order, and the judgment includes a list of key issues to act as a guide for individuals to consider before embarking on a surrogacy arrangement. Mrs Justice Theis DBE noted that this case is "an important cautionary reminder of the need for those embarking on surrogacy arrangements, particularly those that cross a number of different jurisdictions, to carefully consider, in advance, the arrangements, consequences and implications of that arrangement." Andrew was instructed by Hilka Hollmann of Dawson Cornwell. Click here to read the judgment: https://lnkd.in/ec9YSurj #FamilyLaw #Surrogacy #SurrogacyArrangements #ReportedCase
