We are excited to say, the short film, Unmasked, is now ready for submission to the Royal Television Society. This short film is a platform for Neurodiversity awareness. All of the cast and crew were neurodivergent and it proved that, no matter what special skill you have, just through inclusion, fantastic things can happen. Please feel free to watch the short film https://lnkd.in/gcPGKd8D

This weekend in Coddington, Notts, sees the first premiere of a short awareness film about people with Autism. It takes place at the local village Scout hall. Why am I telling you this? I'm not sure whether you bare familiar with how a short film gets made. It takes hours and hours of time to source people, source the crew, write the scripts, get the social media started and continue to get the posts out, contact the local newspaper etc etc. It's daunting. Now image that you are on the Spectrum and you have all those tasks to do, buy yourself at first. That is exactly what Lucy Moon had to do. Lucy came to me and asked if I would help her with a short film - reading it. I agreed and then suggested that she make it. She asked if I would help her. I said I would providing she undertook the finding of people herself and that everyone attached to the film was on the Spectrum. Daunting as this was, she agreed. I made sure I was there every step of the way to make sure she wasn't overwhelmed. Within 3 days, she had managed to get a hit from her socials and people were keen to know more. One week later and we had a cast. Lucy organised everything and so efficiently. When the group met finally 6 months later to film, it was as if they had known each other all their lives. They were so kind and caring towards each other. The filming had its moments and we did have a couple of meltdowns, but everything was catered for just in case of an eventuality. Everybody looked after everybody. I suppose what I am getting at is this, just because we all operate on different levels, doesn't mean that anyone should not be included. I was misled regarding people with Autism. I was told, they couldn't function in a normal job, they have too many issues, why would anyone want to put themselves through the hassle of dealing with them. Well let me tell you. NEVER judge a book by its cover. Everyone on that set whilst filming were totally committed to each other and I experienced something that I'd never experienced before. A sense of belonging. Truly belonging to a group. So I say thank you to my new found friends and I look forward to the next script that comes my way and working with an amazing bunch of people.

Well, we have finally come to the end of the Editing process of a very exciting project: a short film completely manned and directed by neurodivergents. What an amazing project. 30 people, all on the Spectrum and smashed the project. One idea led to a culmination of 30 people with special talents to create a short film about Autism. The group had to find each other and pull together to prove that determination and a bloody mindedness will always overcome everything and every negative attitude. An amazing experience. the next step is to raise the money to market and promote this special project. Congratulations to everyone involved in Unmasked, a story by Lucy Moon.
