Defintely worth talking with Emma Andrews if you are looking for a trusted, fun and energetic EA
Executive Assistant with 25 years experience providing Executive and Operational support to C-suite and Directors within the recruitment industry.
Having recently found myself on the job market here are some of the things I am learning and some I wish I had taken more seriously and given the time of day over the years. To anyone in the same boat the market is 100% picking up, stick at it! Trust me…I’ve completed LinkedIn 😂 1. Always take the calls, and respond to those headhunt emails - whether you are on the market or not, network, ask questions, and make connections. Look after you and stay in contact with the people and companies that have shown an interest in you throughout your career. 2. Always have an upto date CV, add to it/change it regularly. Don’t wait for when you might need it. Understand it and be ready to answer questions on a job from 2000😂 3. No one cares about your GCSEs or A Level results unless it’s relevant to the role and you’re fresh out of school/uni. 4. Connect, connect, connect, find 5-10 companies a day that could either A. Help you or B. You are interested in working with. 5. Don’t just click easy apply. Connect with the company/leaders and follow up with a call, sell yourself to anyone that will listen. Don’t take the answer ‘we have received a lot of applicants, we’re get back to you’ get ‘you’ to the top of that massive hole of doom, you are never being found unless you fall within the first 20-30 of the inbox. 6. Educate yourself on the companies you are applying to, google the life out of them, check their accounts, people, reviews. Do you really want to work there? 7. Find yourself 2-3 decent recruiters that are within your niche, keep in contact, check in regularly. If they advertise a role, don’t apply for it, pick up the phone. I have spoken to many and some have been shocking 🙈! keep your network tight and relevant. I have my 2. What stands them apart are that they have bothered to get to know me, and know exactly what to look for, if it’s not right they tell me no, trust the ones that really know their clients and not the ones that are looking for a quick fee 👍🏻 8. Reconnect with old employers/colleagues, you’ll be amazed by how many take the time to help you and check in on you. You are not alone. 9. Treat looking for a role like a part time job, take time out away from the screen! You’ll have good days and bad days and that is ok. 10. Stay grounded, take positive conversations with a pinch of salt, keep searching, it’s not done until it’s done. 11. Be loyal to yourself and look after you whether you’re in employment or on the market. Good luck to everyone going through the same. #recruitment #hiring #jobhunt #executiveassistant #operationsmanager #EA #PA #CEO #staffingandrecruitment #niche #rec2rec #csuite #admin #headhunt #loyalty #employment #unemployment #talent #opentowork
