We’re wrapping up Talk Money Week with a final expert habit! Today, Jeremy Greenwood shares his go-to tip: “Ignore the pressures of the trappings of wealth and learn how the compounding effect of returns works.” Staying focused on long-term growth, rather than chasing instant rewards, can be a smarter approach to managing your finances. Although it won’t guarantee success, it gives you a better chance to benefit from compounding returns over time. Follow the link to hear more from Jeremy: https://lnkd.in/etjwfVnh Capital at risk.

It’s Talk Money Week! Time for another expert tip to help you build better financial habits. Today, we hear from George Winters: “Run a basic budget spreadsheet of all your household incomings and outgoings and keep an eye on it. On top of that, review and regularly renegotiate with providers things like mobile phone, Sky, broadband, gas and electricity contracts. You’ll be surprised at how much you can save yourself.” Keeping track of your budget and renegotiating contracts can free up money you didn’t even realise you were losing. The votes are in, the American people have spoken. And the result – no matter how controversial it might be for some - is much more clear cut than it could’ve been. With Trump heading back to the White House, and potentially with Elon Musk by his side, what’s next? Well, for 7IM portfolios, not much, as Ben Kumar details in his latest musings, which you can read here. https://lnkd.in/eWF9iavf Capital at risk.

It’s Talk Money Week, and we’re halfway through our expert financial tips! Today, we’ve got insights from Olivia West and Daniel Wood. Olivia says: “I think I’d have to say financial discipline. Being in control of your finances is extremely empowering, and there is a lot of research confirming that financial wellbeing (which doesn’t necessarily mean untold wealth, but more often being in control of your finances), is intrinsically linked with emotional and mental wellbeing – all of which are vital to our overall happiness and contentment. If you need help with this, start a conversation with an adviser.” For Daniel, discipline is essential. “What I mean by this,” he says, “is to have the discipline to remain invested, especially during uncertain, volatile, and difficult times, and to not try and time the market. As the tried-and-tested saying goes, it’s spent time in the market, not spent timing the market, which will generate better returns.” Financial discipline and long-term commitment are essential to both your financial and emotional wellbeing. Happy Diwali and Saal Mubarak to all! We’re thrilled to be celebrating the Festival of Lights here at 7IM alongside Partners Wealth Management, embracing the joy, light, and hope that Diwali brings. Over the past 5 days, our teams have come together to honor this special time, shining a light on unity, gratitude, and the power of new beginnings. Special thanks to Toto James and Pamela Rughwani for sharing their personal experiences and knowledge of Diwali, enriching our celebrations with insights into its history and the significance behind each day. Toto enjoys kicking off the festivities by bringing people together for an evening of light, warmth, and camaraderie, reminding us all of Diwali’s essence—celebrating the triumph of light over darkness. Pamela enjoys lighting sparklers in both the front and back gardens after prayers, creating a joyful, entertaining experience that her two young kids especially look forward to! Yesterday, Sunday 3rd November marked Bhai Dooj, the final day of Diwali celebrations. To end on a sweet note with our highlight of the Diwali menu: mithai! These traditional sweets signify the hope for a prosperous and sweet year ahead. Wishing everyone a Diwali filled with light, happiness, and new opportunities. Here’s to embracing a brighter future together!

It’s Talk Money Week! Let’s break the stigma around talking about money and take control of our financial futures, one step at a time. What’s your “one thing” going to be? Each day this week, we will share one financial habit our experts think everyone should have! First up, Mark Endacott. “It’s important to enjoy your money and do things you want to do – don’t put it off to tomorrow. As my father always reminds me, ‘life isn’t a rehearsal’. “With this in mind, I think it is so important for people to remember to use their annual allowances as much as they can. For example, fund your pensions – retirement can sometimes feel a long way off, but not many investments give you tax relief pensions can offer each year!” Follow the link to hear more from Mark: https://lnkd.in/eZGAQ8ke Tax rules are subject to change and taxation will vary depending on individual circumstances.
