Our hardworking team has braved every weather challenge, from rain-soaked days at the beginning of the week to today’s scorching 30-degree heat. Even with adverse weather, they have persevered through it all, and it has been a fantastic start to the season. As the week progresses, our team has done an outstanding job managing both the scheduled programs and a few additional trucks that came in. Next week, our sister company in Spain, Emmett Murcia, will kick off its season. Richard Clark and his team are eager to get started, focusing on both organic and conventional spinach production. Exciting times ahead as we prepare to meet growing demand with dedication and teamwork across our operations.

A short video that was shot by one of our team in the factory today. Amazing what you can do with a phone now. This shows our simple method of packing up to 5000kg of spinach per hour, ensuring that our cutting team can harvest in the best possible conditions.

Today is a busy day, the first day of harvest for our 2024/25 spinach season. The team were ready to go early this morning, aiming to cut 28 tonnes today and a further 28 tonnes tomorrow ahead of the weekend's predicted rainfall. This spinach was drilled just over 30 days ago, and while the harvesting team is cutting, Luigi, our drillman, is sowing crops to be harvested on the 1st of December.

Last week, some of our incredible team visited the UK operation to understand how they operate, their quality expectations and to put a few faces to names. All involved found the entire visit informative and helpful. However, meeting the UK team on a social level each evening was the most fun.
