We are delighted to partner with The Russell Anderson Foundation in providing a location for sports kit donation. Every donation will be used locally for young people and children in the area surrounding ASV. No child should go without. Any support / donations would be greatly appreciated.
We are excited to share with you that Aberdeen Sports Village is supporting our boot library. We regularly hand out trainers and football boots to those who need it. Especially whilst running our camps and festivals, so it makes perfect sense to have a donation box here! Members and visitors to ASV will be able to drop off any preloved sportswear (trainers, football boots, shin guards, shorts, t-shirts, joggers etc) and we will organise and distribute them to children and young people in the local area, when they need it. We aim to remove as many barriers as we can so that children have the opportunity to thrive, grown and experience new things. That’s the impact these donations have. As always, we are incredibly grateful to Graham Morrison and the team at ASV for their ongoing support.

A consultation is currently being held by Aberdeen City Council (ACC) regarding proposed public service cuts which may have a significant impact on ASV and the services we provide. In the current financial year ASV’s funding was reduced by 25%, equating to a £400,000 cut. Combined with extremely high energy costs, this reduction has placed significant financial pressure on ASV. Looking ahead, ACC is proposing an additional 10% cut to its funding for ASV in the 2025–2026 financial year, which would reduce its contribution by £62,400. Due to the joint venture structure with the University of Aberdeen this reduction would mean a total funding cut of £124,800. If these cuts are approved, ASV will face further challenges that will affect our ability to deliver services at the current levels. You may notice changes such as: - Price increases - Restricted access to our Aquatics Centre. - Reduction in operating hours. - The withdrawal of free or heavily subsidised children’s activities Please support ASV and make your voice heard! We strongly encourage you to participate in the current public consultation. Your feedback is vital in ensuring that ACC understands the importance of ASV our community.
