Last Wednesday, I used half a day of my paid volunteering time to complete a four-hour shift with the charity Shout UK (giveusashout.org). At Acacium Group, we are fortunate to have up to two days a year paid to support charities that matter to us and make a difference to the causes we care about. During my shift, I supported 24 people. Many are surprised by how many individuals use this service and how varied the conversations can be. I speak to a diverse range of people, including children, prisoners, students, and often healthcare professionals. Mental health truly does not discriminate. A big thank you to Acacium Group for allowing us to spend some of our working day supporting others. And thank you to Shout UK for providing access to this vital support to people when they need it most.
