Paul has been working within the professional sport events industry for over 18 years, delivering golf events on the DP World Tour in the UK & Ireland, across Europe and in the Middle East. For the last eight years, Paul's full time role has been to lead the operational delivery of the Ryder Cup when it has been played in Europe – played on the outskirts of Paris in 2018, Rome in 2023 and currently planning for the 2027 Ryder Cup which will take place in Ireland. We are delighted to welcome Sam Booth, director of sustainability at AEG Europe, as the latest name to join our judging panel for the Access All Areas Conference & Awards! Sam began his career in experiential event production, working on international projects for brands as diverse as Samsung, Adidas and Google. However, following a course at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership, he decided to refocus his efforts on fighting the climate crisis. After helping the likes of Pernod Ricard and booking.com to create sustainability strategies at the consultancy Futerra, he secured his current role at AEG Europe to oversee all of the company’s sustainability strategy and initiatives across its venues, festivals and tours. Stuart Galbraith’s Kilimanjaro Live Ltd (Myticket.co.uk) is to stage a series of live shows to accompany this year’s edition of music retail initiative National Album Day. The promoter joins National Album Day partners including BBC Radio 2 and War Child. Along with live performances, the initiative includes artist interviews, listening events, in-store artist appearances and exhibitions at the likes of the V&A museum. “Kilimanjaro Live is honoured and delighted to become the official live partner for National Album Day,” said Galbraith. https://lnkd.in/efDFtH_i #news #live #NAD

Black Lives in Music (BLiM), has presented evidence to the London Assembly showing that racial prejudice in event licensing remains a major problem and continues to significantly impact the night-time economy and create barriers for BAME artists and promoters. BLiM has been commissioned by the GLA, Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime, and The Musicians’ Union (MU) to research the impact of policies and interactions with the police, councils, venues and promoters on Black, Asian and ethnically diverse music events. Dr Charisse Beaumont (DMus), BLiM’s CEO, shared some initial findings with the Assembly. Beaumont said, “In one case a large venue called an artist on the day of the event to say they had researched them on the internet and they play hip hop. They feared they would lose their licence, so cancelled the performance. There are other stories of large venues receiving calls from the police advising them to stop a performance. Imagine a small venue or promoter receiving that call, who don’t have the contacts with police and councillors to object. The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) said it has launched an investigation into Ticketmaster’s use of dynamic pricing during the sale of tickets for the Oasis Live ’25 stadium tour. CMA CEO Sarah Cardell said, “It’s important that fans are treated fairly when they buy tickets, which is why we’ve launched this investigation.
