The Association for Professionals in the Management of Clinical Data
About us
The Association for Professionals in the Management of Clinical Data The Association for Clinical Data Management (ACDM) represents professionals working in the management of clinical data. Founded over 30 years ago, we have been at the forefront of changes in all aspects of the management of clinical data in clinical trials. We have supported our members through training, conferences, discussions and information provision and, over the last 30 years, have covered areas such as the introduction of GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH GCP R2, the implementation of EDC, remote monitoring, Risk Based Monitoring as well as a wide range of other relevant industry topics. We have a large, diverse membership and aim to lead the development and appreciation of the essential activities of those working in the sector. We represent and support professionals involved with managing, capturing, handling and designing methods to collect clinical data from within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and academic research fields. The ACDM provides explicit settings for the membership to develop standards within the profession. We also seek to enhance the individual skills, knowledge and professional development of our members. Our intent is to equip members with the skills to participate more effectively in the mainstream of drug development. At the hub of ACDM activities, our website offers a diverse, valuable resource for all levels of professional people managing clinical data. We aim to promote best practices, share knowledge and assist with the professional development of our growing membership.

Do the trials you work on still implement 100% source data verification (SDV)…… The shift from 100% source data verification (SDV) to risk-based monitoring (RBM) has significant implications for clinical data management. While traditional 100% SDV ensures thoroughness, it can be time-consuming and resource-intensive, often delaying trial timelines and inflating costs. RBM, on the other hand, allows for targeted monitoring of data points deemed higher risk based on predefined criteria, facilitating a more efficient allocation of resources. This approach not only enhances the focus on critical data but also fosters proactive identification of issues, ultimately improving data quality and integrity. By streamlining processes and emphasising risk assessment, clinical data management can better support the overall goals of trial efficiency and regulatory compliance. This prompts this week’s ACDM LinkedIn Poll. Do the trials you work on still implement 100% source data verification (SDV)? Robert King, Sverre Bengtsson, Nina Reyes, Jo Marshall, Eva Alder, Amelie Spieser, Anita Kratchmarov, Nicola Götz, Richard Davies, Ashley Howard #clinicaltrials #clinicalresearch #clinicaldatamanagement #RBQM #acdm
