💛 Supporting the Maddie Rose Campaign 💛 Today, we are proud to stand with the industry in celebrating Maddie’s Day. The Maddie Rose Campaign was established in memory of the remarkable Maddie Rose, a young woman whose passion and dedication to the Merchanting and Construction Supply sector left a lasting mark. The campaign seeks to: - Inspire and support young people to discover hidden career opportunities within the Merchanting, Construction, and Built Environment industries – just as Maddie did. - Unify businesses across the Construction Supply Market, encouraging collaboration and innovative youth engagement, with the support of the Construction Youth Trust. - Raise essential funds to break down barriers, ensuring young people can achieve their full career potential within the sector. Together, we can build a stronger future for the next generation. Wonderful feedback from Terry Wilkinson's presentation at the IHE Greater London Branch event on Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). If you're interested in attending a CPD session on SuDS with Terry Wilkinson or any of our other experts, please get in touch here: https://lnkd.in/e7eaGASf
MSc (Civil), B.Tech (Civil), Diploma (Civil), GMICE, Affiliate Member(IHE), STEM Ambassador, ICE ECN Mentorship Lead
Today, I had the pleasure of attending the IHE Greater London Branch event on SuDS - "What can we learn from beavers?" 🦫 The presentation by Terry Wilkinson was nothing short of excellent. The use of visual aids and videos made it so much easier to grasp the importance and application of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). It was a fantastic opportunity to dive deeper into how nature-inspired solutions can significantly impact urban water management. Beyond the technical insights, I was fortunate to connect with industry professionals, gaining valuable feedback and perspectives that will undoubtedly shape my approach to future projects. A big thank you to the IHE London Branch for organising this insightful event. I’m looking forward to applying what I’ve learned and continuing my journey in civil engineering with these new perspectives. #CivilEngineering #SuDS #SustainableDevelopment Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Greater London Branch

Our Nature Champion team at ACO has been patrolling the site grounds, at Shefford, exploring ways to further enhance living accommodations for our small, four-legged friends (amphibians). Led by our Sustainability Lead, Adam Russell Cane, they spotted a family of newts in a manhole. They were safely relocated to the green landscaping surrounding the site. Additionally, slinkies were added to protect the bird food from the cheeky squirrels! A key aspect of our recent site expansion was to create a habitat-sensitive environment that cares for the surrounding nature and water resources. Volunteers like our Nature Champions play a crucial role in ensuring we stay true to these commitments.
