MCS reacts as latest BUS figures show increased uptake of scheme Ian Rippin, CEO at MCS, said: “The latest government data shows 3,223 applications to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) in September 2024 - a 12% increase from the 2,890 applications in August and nearly triple the number of applications received in September 2023. September also marked the second-highest month for applications since the BUS began, just behind the peak in October 2023, which was the first month that followed the £7,500 grant uplift.
