Our CEO Adam Blaze was amongst those present at a special wheelchair basketball session in Solihull today led by Paralympian Siobhán Fitzpatrick as part of the Play Their Way campaign. With Paralympic action in Paris capturing the attention of the nation, GB Siobhán joined the event along with young players from her former club. The Warwickshire Cubs held a training session to highlight the vital role child-first coaches play in helping disabled children and young people have positive and enjoyable experiences of sport. Forget world records for a moment, some stats you need to know! At the Paralympics, personal bests, medal tallies and world records tend to hog the headlines. We take a look at facts and statistics that show the reality of trying to be active in England as a disabled person. Our Annual Disability and Activity Survey 2023-24 is a primary source of insight for organisations working to achieve fairness for disabled people in sport and activity. This year’s results showed disabled people are twice as likely to be inactive as non-disabled people, a disparity that has remained consistent since the first report was released five years ago. https://lnkd.in/ebyuDW23

Are your communications accessible? With a nationwide focus on the Paralympics in Paris there may be an increase in disabled people looking for information on how to be active. Effective marketing and communications that is inclusive and accessible is essential for all organisations. As with any other large group, there can be no one-size-fits-all approach to how or what is communicated with disabled people.
