Azure and your business Data Loss Prevention (DLP) strategy. Today data security is paramount for businesses of all sizes. #Microsoft #Azure offers robust Data Loss Prevention (#DLP) capabilities that help safeguard sensitive information across your organisation. By leveraging cloud-native DLP solutions like Microsoft #Purview, businesses can benefit from comprehensive data protection that seamlessly integrates with existing workflows. Azure's DLP policies allow you to monitor sensitive information, ensuring that data is not lost, misused, or accessed by unauthorised users. This proactive approach enables organisations to define control objectives tailored to their needs, whether monitoring #Exchange emails, #SharePoint sites, or even on-premises repositories. One of the key advantages of Azure's DLP solutions is their ability to dynamically adapt to risk levels using machine learning. This ensures that strict controls are applied only when necessary, allowing employees to work productively while maintaining compliance and security. As more businesses transition to cloud computing, implementing a robust DLP strategy becomes essential. Azure empowers organisations to enhance their data protection measures, enabling them to focus on growth while ensuring sensitive information remains secure. Auto-Storing Passwords in Web Browsers….what’s the risk? In this week’s Tuesday Cyber Security Top Tip, we’re highlighting a common but risky practice: auto-storing passwords in web browsers. While it may seem convenient, saving passwords in your browser can leave your organisation vulnerable. Here’s why it’s a dangerous habit: Weak Encryption: Many browsers don’t encrypt stored passwords well, making them susceptible to theft if your device is compromised. Single Point of Failure: If a hacker gains access to your browser, they can access all stored passwords, leading to multiple account breaches. #Phishing Risks: Browsers can be tricked into auto-filling credentials on fake websites, putting your sensitive information at risk. Inconsistent Security: Not all browsers offer the same level of security, and relying on one can expose your business to unnecessary threats. To protect your data, avoid auto-storing passwords in browsers and switch to a dedicated password manager. They offer stronger security features and better password management. Have you spoken to your IT provider about the dangers of browser-stored passwords? If not, reach out to Craig Langman and the team to discuss secure password management solutions for your business. ▶ https://lnkd.in/exsZQXqV The Cyber Resilience Centre for West Midlands #CyberSecurityTips #PasswordManagement #DataSecurity #infosec

Does Bloatware Pose a Risk to Your Network? This week in our Tuesday Cyber Security Top Tip series, we’re focusing on bloatware and its potential risks to your #networksecurity. Bloatware refers to unnecessary software that comes pre-installed on new devices or accumulates over time. While these programs may seem harmless, they can pose significant threats to your organization. Here’s what you need to know: Increased Attack Surface: Each piece of bloatware introduces potential vulnerabilities that cybercriminals can exploit. More software means more opportunities for hackers to breach your system. Resource Drain: Bloatware can slow down your systems, consuming precious resources and bandwidth, leading to performance issues and decreased productivity. Compliance Risks: Some bloatware may not meet your organization’s compliance standards, putting sensitive data at risk and potentially resulting in regulatory penalties. Obscured Management: Bloatware complicates system management, making it harder to monitor and secure your network effectively. So, how can you address the risks associated with bloatware? Conduct Regular Audits: Regularly review your software inventory to identify and remove unnecessary programs. Streamline Your Standard Build: Ensure that your company’s standard build includes only essential applications to enhance security and efficiency. Educate Your Team: Train employees on the importance of avoiding bloatware and maintaining a lean software environment. By proactively managing bloatware, you can reduce security risks and maintain a more efficient and secure IT environment. Have you spoken to your IT provider about a cybersecurity audit? If not, why not reach out to Craig Langman and the team? They can help ensure your network is secure and free from unnecessary vulnerabilities. https://lnkd.in/exsZQXqV #CyberSecurityTips #Bloatware #NetworkSecurity #infosec The Cyber Resilience Centre for West Midlands
