"Initially I couldn't tell it wasn't meat" "It's the best I've tried" "Texture-wise, I've not had better" "The bite and fibres are impressive" 🔥🔥🔥 We've been busy having industry experts put the Adamo Steak to the (taste) test 👅 It's whole-cut, griddled and served medium-rare and plain with nowhere to hide (peppercorn sauce on the side). Juicy, fibrous, umami, and healthy - made from fermented fungi and only 5 all-natural ingredients. 🥩 We're thrilled with the feedback and are preparing for consumer trials. We're happy to announce that we've raised £2m in Seed funding! The investment will help scale up our ground-breaking whole-cut products and prepare for commercialisation 🚀 This funding follows a series of investor and expert product tastings, where we were thrilled with the amazing feedback. The Adamo Steak is the first ultra-realistic and healthy alternative to steak, with a tender and fibrous texture, based on mycelium and made from only 5 natural ingredients. With the new funds, we're now getting stuck in increasing production to make many, many more delicious steaks 🥩 🌱 This wouldn't have been possible without our amazing team, who have been working tirelessly over the past months (thank you!). 🎉 We're super excited to announce new funding for Adamo Foods 💰 Innovate UK is funding our new £1m project under the Novel Low Emission Food Production Systems competition to help us scale up our unique fermentation process. Adamo's secret sauce is how we're able to create a mycelium base with a uniquely fibrous texture that replicates whole cut meat within a highly scalable fermentation process. It's similar to tried and tested technology pioneered by Quorn, but we're doing something new. 👀 While only 8% of the UK are vegetarian or vegan, 40% now consider themselves "flexitarian", a.k.a. they like steak but feel guilty about it. To convince these people to drop animal products we need genuinely delicious products that are much closer to the real thing. Our new technology produces genuinely fibrous, juicy and tender meat alternatives which for the first time can convince the mass market. 😎 We're hugely grateful to Innovate UK for recognising the ground-breaking potential of our new technology.
