A great job by Alex Black FCCA and Regan Saffhill ATT CTA at the Ad Valorem Group Autumn Budget breakfast in Milton Keynes today unlocking the main impact on our customers 💼 The polls taken at the beginning and end of the session revealed that many people had initially thought more about Capital Gains Tax changes rather than the massive impact on Inheritance Tax (IHT) 🤔 Also, in calculating the impact of the Employers National Insurance Contributions changes, it is actually the change in threshold from £9,100 to £5,000 causing the most harm, particularly as a percentage on lower paid employees. For each employee earning over £5,000 employers have to pay an additional £615 as well as the 1.2% increase from 13.8% to 15% on the rest therefore if you have more than 4 employees you may well be affected despite the increase in Employment Allowance 💷💷 Thanks to Glen Marshall for attending and jumping in to give his thoughts on the changes to pensions which are now coming within the scope of IHT. 🚨 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗺𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰! 🚨 Here's a quick snapshot of changes impacting small businesses and individuals: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: The Employer NI threshold has fallen to £5,000, and the contribution rate increased to 15%. 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝘅: Rates for disposals on or after 30 October 2024 rise from 10% to 18% (basic rate taxpayers) and 20% to 24% (higher rate taxpayers).
