Building the UK’s first clean, multi-energy refuelling hubs for commercial vehicles
About us
Welcome to Aegis Energy We are building the first clean, multi-energy refuelling hubs for commercial vehicles. Our network of hubs will meet the needs of all truck and van operators transitioning to cleaner fuels, including electric, HVO, hydrogen and bio-CNG. Tackling transport emissions demands considerable growth in infrastructure provision. By building first-of-its-kind public infrastructure, we will deliver an essential missing piece that will enable the next wave of low and zero-emission trucks and vans to hit UK roads and help drive forward the clean energy transition. In addition to bookable high-speed electric charging and other low carbon fuels, each hub will also provide safe and secure truck parking and driver facilities that include clean toilets and showers, good food and calm spaces. We are actively looking to partner with more fleet operators across the UK to help them navigate the transition. Please get in touch with one of our team if you want to find out more.

Fancy a sneak peek into the future of low carbon commercial fleets? Aegis Energy is building the UK’s first network of low and zero-emission, multi-energy charging and refuelling hubs for commercial vehicles. Alongside bookable high-speed electric charging, HVO, hydrogen and bio-CNG, we’ll also provide safe and secure truck parking and essential high-quality driver facilities (including clean toilets and showers, good food and calm spaces). With construction kicking off this year, our first hub is set to open in early 2026. Though this is just the start... our plan is to roll out four more sites by the end of 2027, and 30 by the end of the decade. This is the start of a national network, to make route planning flexible. #NetZero #SustainableTransport #CleanEnergy #CommercialFleets

It’s brilliant to see Aegis Energy hitting the headlines this week for how we’re 'driving' a key part of the transport sector's clean energy transition. With a £100m commitment from Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, we’re creating a network of clean energy hubs for commercial vehicles across the UK. By building first-of-its-kind public infrastructure, we’re delivering an essential missing piece that will enable the next wave of low and zero-emission trucks and vans to hit the roads. 🚚 The team at Aegis is immensely grateful to the many national news outlets and key transport and renewables publications, including The Times, Yorkshire Post, GB News, Yahoo Finance UK, BusinessLive, Fleet News, EV Magazine, BusinessGreen, Business Standard and edie, for drawing national attention to this significant milestone for both the company and the future of commercial fleets in the UK. We are extremely proud to announce that we’ve secured commitments of £100 million from Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners to build the UK’s first clean, multi-energy refuelling hubs for trucks and vans. 🌍 With commercial vehicles contributing 10% of the UK’s total emissions, this is a huge step towards decarbonising one of the country’s most polluting sectors. Our first hub will open in early 2026, with four more to follow by 2027. By offering clean fuels including electric, HVO, hydrogen and bio-CNG, each hub is expected to cut carbon emissions by 14,300 tonnes per annum. The energy transition demands vast growth in infrastructure provision, and we’re thrilled to be leading the way. Two topics we care about: advancing safer truck parking and improving driver facilities. Last week, the ScanSpot team carried out field work in Alfeld, Germany, near Nuremberg, on the Bosch Secure Truck Parking site. Led by George L. of Aegis Energy and supported by the University of Oxford and Freightsafe Limited, this five-day initiative focussed on collecting diverse datasets using advanced sensing technologies to tackle critical challenges in logistics and driver safety. At the heart of the project was a developmental machine nicknamed "Frankenstein," equipped with LiDAR, thermal imaging, and low light capabilities. This setup enabled the project to collect data that could help improve truck parking facilities, making them safer and more efficient for drivers, while also aiming to reduce operational costs across the industry. With the backing of Innovate UK the project reflects the growing need for innovative solutions to enhance driver facilities and support the logistics industry in addressing key pain points. A big thank you to all collaborators for their work in laying the groundwork for safer and more cost-effective solutions in freight logistics. #DriverWelfare #SaferTruckStops #Innovation #DataCollection #Logistics #IndustrySolutions #UniversityofOxford #AegisEnergy #InnovateUK Bosch Secure Truck Parking / Bosch / Aegis Energy

It's that special time of year where some of our team get stuck into attempting 100-pressups everyday in November to raise money for Prostate Cancer Any donations are welcome to this fantastic cause And, if not, do feel free in any forthcoming meetings to ask your point of contact to "drop and give me twenty" Our Just Giving page is here: https://lnkd.in/ed7WsN5U
Unlike Britney, we don't want a Maserati, a Lamborghini, to sip martinis or to look hot in bikinis But we do have to work, because it's PRESS-UP SEASON Every year, some of the team at Aegis Energy spends November doing x100 press-ups every day to raise money for Prostate Cancer As of today, we're half way there! Please donate if you have any spare pounds or pennies at our Just Giving link ... https://lnkd.in/eqbKdNak This is a cause very close to my heart. Prostate cancer remains the most common cancer in men, with more than 144 men diagnose each day in the UK. We need better widespread screening to keep men safe, too many cases are still being diagnosed too late. All evidence on the efforts so far can be found at the link below 💪 https://lnkd.in/ejeNA4pG

We are delighted to announce that Kasia Chodurek is Aegis Energy’s new Director of Business Development Kasia joined us 18 months ago, having spent 6 years at BlackRock working with some of the UK’s most significant asset owners, mostly DB pension funds. In her latest blog, Kasia talks about her time at BlackRock, having witnessed the earliest wave of corporate sustainability targets being announced, and what that time has taught her about how to keep driving change at Aegis Energy. Read her piece, here: https://lnkd.in/eTrYJKaw Thank you for working with us Kasia, to keep delivering our mission to help UK fleets decarbonise with confidence!
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Director of Business Development at Aegis Energy! Moving from Pensions to Power infrastructure was not straightforward. I've written about what lessons still apply, and the work left to do. To all those also working on the decarbonisation of trucks and vans - thanks for having me! https://lnkd.in/eXmv9dgt

Aegis' Kasia Chodurek and Chris Thorneycroft Smith have had a great few days at the #MTdecarbsummit this week in Birmingham. We're looking forward to returning in 2025!
Comfortably one of the best conferences I’ve been to on how we decarbonise UK trucks Thank you Andy Salter for leading a great few days hosted by Motor Transport at the #MTdecarbsummit By 2050, I’ll be 55. I hope to be looking back on two decades of immense work and immense change. In the meantime we have ~99% of the HGV parc to shift off diesel, equivalent to hundreds of thousands of vehicles. We have ~20MtCO2e to tackle down to net zero. Infrastructure continues to be a big theme but it’s not the whole picture, very humbling for me and colleagues at Aegis Energy as we play our part in helping fleets decarbonise with confidence (more to come soon on what we are working on⚡️)
