Are you working and also caring? We want to know your views. From next year there will be more people in the workplace with elderly dependants than those with childcare responsibilities… We want to better understand the impact caring for a loved one has on everyone who is also juggling with work, whether part-time or full-time. We’ve devised a short survey. It will only take a couple of minutes. Your views and ideas will help us provide a new employer/employee support programme. Do please have your say here or pass the link on to someone you know. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/e-k-Zb2G

How often do your employees take unplanned time off to take an elderly parent to a medical appointment? The Carer’s Leave Act 2024 offers employees a crucial benefit - one week of unpaid care leave per year to support elderly parents or relatives. Additionally, employees can now request flexible working arrangements, allowing them to better balance their personal responsibilities with professional commitments. With our workforce ageing, it's imperative for employers to acknowledge and adapt to the evolving needs of their teams. Supporting your employees with caring responsibilities not only enhances their well-being but also boosts productivity and morale. Empower your teams with flexibility and support they deserve to continue to work, and to care. One in three of people we surveyed research elderly care solutions while they’re at work. Attendance Allowance is one of the key benefits for older people, in 2024/5 could be worth an extra £5,000 per year for anyone aged over 65 with a disability and need for help with everyday tasks. The forms are a whopping 30 pages long. This is just one of the many tasks that unpaid carers do with and for their elderly parents and relatives. It’s time-consuming, and for already busy people juggling work, another thing for the to-do list. Our solution for busy people - The Care Planning Experts - helping you to work, and to care. With less form-filling. Get in touch today. https://lnkd.in/eedGkrZF #eldercare #attendanceallowance #elderlycare #laterlife #unpaidcarers #seniorliving #hrteams

To continue celebrating National Inclusion Week, our Senior Content and Development Officer Kathryn Woolston-Thomas has written a short article about inclusivity of carers in the workplace and how your organisation can support carers on an organisational, managerial and employee level. "Carers may come into an organisation already caring, they may have to respond to an emergency during the workday that triggers a longer-term caring responsibility, they may come in and out of a caring role or have multiple caring roles at once to fulfil. It is important for organisations to think about these different types of scenarios and the means of support that could benefit them." #nationalinclusionweek #supportingworkingcarers #impactmatters

This counts as care. A beautiful new ad campaign from #carersuk. Care doesn't always mean upside-down fob watches, plastic aprons or disposable gloves. So often it's about the everyday - which always counts as care. #care #laterlife #ThisCountsasCare https://lnkd.in/eCm4G3XV
