The UK is hosting the 92nd INTERPOL General Assembly, which will take place from 4th – 7th November 2024 in Glasgow. The largest global gathering of senior law enforcement officials will bring together some 1,000 participants, including heads of police, ministers, and senior government officials from around the world. As part of this international event, Aim Ltd will have a stand at the law enforcement exhibition, which aims to showcase the best of UK policing and law enforcement, with a focus on the three General Assembly themes - Global Leadership, Innovation and Collaboration. Aim Ltd is honoured to have been invited to this event and we look forward to discussing data challenges with international law enforcement teams and demonstrating our world-leading data governance and investigation software platform #dataBelt® used by UK police. INTERPOL’s role is to enable police in its 196 member countries to work together to fight transnational crime and make the world a safer place. It maintains global databases containing police information on criminals and crime, and provides operational and forensic support, analysis services and training. These policing capabilities are delivered worldwide and support four global programmes: financial crime and corruption; counter-terrorism; cybercrime; and organized and emerging crime.

Thanks to Matt Smith for his illuminating talk on data challenges in modern policing at DATA:Scotland event in the very impressive University of Strathclyde Technology & Innovation building. To a packed room, Matt described the data challenges we have seen in Aim Ltd and worked on in law enforcement. He also reported compelling data stories and how the exponential growth of data, coupled with so many data formats, means that the discovery and analysis of data can no longer be left to manual means and requires new technology/AI like Aim Ltd's #dataestate software suite.
