The International Association of Horticultural Producers - 'the World's Champion for the Power of Plants'.
About us
The International Association of Horticultural Producers is the world’s champion for the power of plants Since 1948, AIPH has united horticultural producers in an international community that thrives to this day. Much has changed in that time. Technologies advanced, cities rose from the ground, and we have become more connected than ever. As a result, our essential bond with nature has been weakened. AIPH strives to reignite and uphold an appreciation of plants that we believe is a basic human instinct. We support the work of grower associations globally and together we champion a prosperous industry, growing plants that enhance lives, advance societies and sustain our planet, for this generation and the next.

The next AIPH Green City Briefing will explore how cities can be adapted to ensure a safe and liveable environment for future generations. For young people growing up in cities, urban green spaces provide a vital opportunity to connect with nature. This webinar will present examples of innovative urban design which is integrating green infrastructure as a response to the challenge of creating future proof cities. We will be joined by MC Sudha Kottillil, Coordinator of the Indian Chapter of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network, and speaker Professor Birgitta Gatersleben, Professor of Environmental Psychology at the University of Surrey. Register for free here: https://lnkd.in/eZwx8_9Y Thanks to The Worshipful Company of Gardeners for their support.

Did you know that Horticultural Expos significantly boost tourism in host cities, with effects lasting well beyond the event itself? AIPH-approved Expos, like the Suncheon Garden Expo 2023, create lasting legacies that enhance visitor experiences through Expo parks. Outdoor experiences remain popular among travellers, and ecotourism is rising, with an annual growth rate of 13.4%. Suncheon City saw increased visitors and income post-2013 Expo. Despite a pandemic-induced decline in 2021, 2023 visitor numbers surged thanks to the Suncheon Garden Expo 2023, attracting 9,812,157 visitors. The Expo surpassed 4 million visitors by its 58th day and exceeded its 8 million visitor goal with 24 days remaining. Visitor satisfaction was rated 4.47 out of 5. Thank you to everyone who made the AIPH World Green City Awards 2024 happen! This wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of the AIPH team, especially Dr Audrey Timm and Timothy Blatch of the AIPH Green City team. Our dedicated President, Secretary General, and Board Members were on hand to support the team and present awards to the deserving winners. And a massive thank you to Seren Events PCO Limited for keeping the ceremony running smoothly.
