🎉 Huge congratulations to e-Breathe founder, Dr David McLaughlin, the Green Horizons finalist at last night’s INVENT 2024 awards at ICC Belfast! 👏 INVENT, run by Catalyst, celebrates Northern Ireland’s most exciting entrepreneurs and innovations. David’s innovation, N2O Clear, aims to tackle the environmental impact of nitrous oxide (laughing gas). Nitrous oxide is widely used in healthcare, especially during labour. However, with 300x the global warming potential of CO2, its release into the atmosphere has a significant impact. N2O Clear converts exhaled nitrous oxide into environmentally benign molecules: nitrogen and oxygen - better for mum, the midwife and mother nature! Pictured at the awards ceremony: Carolanne Henry, SSE Airtricity Director of Operations and Customer Experience, with Dr David McLaughlin. SSE Airtricity is a Catalyst Platinum Sponsor – and sponsor of the INVENT awards' Green Horizons category. We wish David and all at e-Breathe the greatest continued success! #INVENT2024 #innovation #entrepreneurship #greentech #northernireland #healthcare

People living outside Ireland's urban centres face limited access to the gas network, public transport and public EV charging infrastructure, posing additional challenges for a just transition to net zero. Through the One Stop Shop, SSE Airtricity can - and is - working with householders all over Ireland, urban and rural, to upgrade their homes with these solutions, better insulation and home EV chargers, as explained by Stuart Hobbs, Director of Energy Services at the National Ploughing Championships. #ev #justtransistion #homeupgrade #netzero
