We are thrilled that The Miniaturist will be screening tonight at the Palais de Beaux-Arts in Lille, specially requested by Series Mania. After the screening, costume designer Joanne Eatwell, whose exceptional work on The Miniaturist earned her nominations for the RTS Craft & Design and BAFTA Craft Awards, joins for an insightful discussion on her creative process. Starring Anya Taylor-Joy, The Miniaturist is a mini-series produced by The Forge for BBC One, co-produced by Masterpiece (USA), is the captivating historical fantasy drama based on the international bestselling book by Jessie Burton.

Astro has greenlit a Mandarin adaptation of the hit comedy-drama format Step Dave in a major deal with All3Media International. This 10-part series, produced by Kuala Lumpur's phoSumpro, is directed by Mai Fernandez and produced by Yin Tan. Fans can look forward to its premiere later this year! Step Dave tells the delightful story of a carefree 24-year-old bartender whose world is turned upside down when he falls for a sophisticated 39-year-old mother of three. Packed with humor and heartfelt moments, it's a must-watch for local audiences. This follows Astro's success with Liar, another international adaptation that resonated with Malaysian viewers in 2023. From BAFTA award-winning and double Oscar-nominated Wildgaze Films (Brooklyn, An Education), we are delighted to share first look images of Trespasses, a forbidden love story set against the backdrop of the Troubles, which is coming to Channel 4 later this year. The images show Lola Petticrew (Say Nothing, Tuesday) as Cushla, a sparky young woman whose desires and dreams have been frustrated by the grind of daily life, Tom Cullen (The Gold, Weekend) as Michael, a controversial barrister, and Gillian Anderson (Scoop, Sex Education) as Gina, Cushla’s mother, a “glorious wreck” who is constantly sparring with her daughter. Trespasses has been adapted for the screen by Ailbhe Keogan (Bad Sisters), is based on Louise Kennedy’s breakout debut novel, which was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize in 2023, and has been directed by BAFTA award-winning Dawn Shadforth (Mood, Adult Material).
