About us

Allen & Heath is a UK based designer of digital and analogue audio mixing consoles for live sound, AV, installation, recording and DJs. Allen & Heath was in the vanguard of the first wave of great British mixer companies, starting life at the heart of London’s swinging music scene in 1969. In those early days Allen & Heath hand-built mixers for the top bands of the era, including Genesis, Pink Floyd and The Who. Today’s Allen & Heath range is used and loved by bands, rental companies, installers, houses of worship, DJs, clubs, broadcasters and studios in virtually every country across the globe. We design and specify all our mixers here at our headquarters in beautiful Cornwall, UK. Our world class R&D team has kept us at the leading edge of mixing technology and is committed to harnessing the best technologies and materials to give our customers the best possible mixing experience. Many key members of the Allen & Heath team are active sound engineers with years of hands-on experience, and we’re fortunate to have a network of leading audio professionals whose feedback helps to shape our designs to meet our customers’ real-world needs. One of the cornerstones of the company is our shared passion for audio excellence, both in the analogue domain and in our digital systems, where we have won high praise from some of the most discerning ears in the business for the faithfulness of our FX and processing emulations. From the tiny ZED-i8 to the largest dLive pro touring system, all mixers bearing the Allen & Heath logo are designed to our exacting audio and build quality standards. With a strong team behind us and our best ever product range, we’re set to play a leading role in mixing technology in the years and decades ahead. The Posthuis Theater in Heerenveen has continued its long-standing relationship with Allen & Heath thanks to a state-of-the-art digital upgrade, bridging the theatre’s rich history dating back to the 1880s with cutting-edge audio technology. The recently installed dLive C3500 Surface takes centre stage in the theatre’s large hall, partnered with a CDM32 MixRack fitted with an AES 4in / 6out card, and complemented by an AHM32 Matrix Processor and a DX32 modular expander, forming a comprehensive audio ecosystem at the heart of the historic building’s various spaces and rooms. The setup, supplied by Ampco Flashlight Sales, provides operators with unprecedented flexibility according to Eric Noorman, a veteran technician with over 40 years of experience at the Posthuis Theater. “Visiting technicians can easily choose how they want to control the new Martin Audio system with just the push of a button,” he says. “Thanks to the extensive patch panel, various theater groups can continue to use their own connections quickly and easily, both via AES and analogue.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eVnJeRsp #allenandheath #dlive #ahm #theatresound

The Smith Center for the Performing Arts provides three venues for performances: Reynolds Hall, a 2,000-seat theater; Myron’s, a 240-seat cabaret jazz club; and Troesh Studio Theater, a black box theater that holds 250 people. Key to the center’s success is the sound across each venue, made possible by the recent adoption of Allen & Heath mixing consoles. John Wrote, Head of Audio at The Smith Center, has been instrumental in shaping the facility’s sound since its inception. Faced with the need to upgrade the center’s audio systems, Wrote turned to Allen & Heath. “I had worked with Allen & Heath analog consoles for a couple of different sound companies,” Wrote shared. “I knew the brand produced great quality products.” The choice was cemented by the release of Avantis, which had just started shipping at the time. Wrote was immediately taken with the console’s capabilities and value proposition. “It was all about bang-for-buck” Wrote explained, when asked about his decision to go with Avantis. “I was able to get Allen & Heath consoles for all three venues, for less than the cost of a single console from some other manufacturers.” Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/ekHTVdaV #allenandheath #avantis #proaudio
