Today we are celebrating our 18th birthday! We chose today to celebrate because Friday’s are better for a party and a hog roast, even though we actually made our first outbound call on Monday the 8th of May 2006! 🥳
We started ResQ very quickly, found a building (Andrew Allenby Allenby Commercial ) on Carr Lane in Hull and won our first client soon after. Looking back now, it’s an incredible story, we hired 30 people, fitted out a call centre, bought some second hand PC’s, found some off the shelf technology and started outbound dialling, all within 4 weeks.
It’s been an incredible journey so far, we’ve been in 6 locations in Hull, outgrowing them all and ending up in the prestigious Hammonds of Hull, whilst setting up in Seaham, Co Durham in 2015. Starting with 30 people, we now have over 2000 employees, 85% working in the contact centre, our own bespoke technology solutions, ResQ IQ, voted a Great Place to Work by our people and we’ve stayed ahead of the AI curve, introducing our in house developed solutions in January of this year.
To every single ResQ employee I wish you a very Happy 18th Birthday, we are officially into adulthood!! I am proud of you all, it’s you that makes this a great place to work. I love the noise when I walk in the centres, the smiles all around, the hello’s and how are you’s, the laughs, the jokes and the fun. The bell ringing, the high fives, the camaraderie, the passion, the friendships and all the hard work – that is what makes our business one I am so proud of.
Outsourcing is a tough industry to thrive in, but if there’s one thing the last 18 years has taught me, it’s look after your people, with a brilliant team you can achieve amazing things.
