Business banking how it used to be, just better.

About us

🌟 Rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot 🥇 Ranked #1 in 2024’s The Sunday Times 100 list of Britain's fastest-growing private companies 🚀 Fourth on LinkedIn's '2024 Top UK Startups' list Allica is a bank built especially for established businesses with between 5 and 250 employees. These businesses make up a third of UK employment and turnover, yet the service they get from the big banks is increasingly impersonal, inconvenient, and poor value. We don’t think that’s right. Allica Bank is on a mission to give established businesses the banking they deserve. That means a current account with a great interest rate. A relationship manager whose name and number they actually know. And technology that makes life easier, not harder. It’s proving to be a winning proposition. Allica was recently named as Britain's fastest-growing private company in 2024’s The Sunday Times 100. We’re also the fastest-growing fintech company in the 26-year history of Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 awards. In 2023, we announced we had lent over £2 billion to UK SMEs, raised £2.6 billion in deposits, and become profitable, all in our first four years of business. From our offices in Milton Keynes, London and Manchester, we’re offering business banking how it used to be, just better.

Another business supported with asset finance! Allica’s customer, a nationwide sign installation business based in Yorkshire, was looking for urgent funding to purchase a van. Less than two hours after the deal was accepted, we completed the payout and the customer is already using his van 🚀 Shahbaz khan, Account Manager at Moorgate Finance, said: "Allica Bank came through with incredible speed when one of my key clients needed urgent funding for a van purchase. Having worked with Allica before, I reached out to our Business Development Manager, Arshad Miah. The deal was accepted, documents were signed, and less than an hour later, I received the payout email. Arshad kept me informed throughout, ensuring the supplier was promptly paid so my client could collect the van before the weekend. The van is already in use, and my client is thrilled. Allica’s efficiency and communication were outstanding." #assetfinance #brokers #SMEfinance

📣 Very excited to launch our new partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), giving FSB members access to a market-leading rate of return on their savings. Through our partnership, FSB members will get a 0.25% boost to the savings rate on their instant access Savings Pot, part of Allica’s business current account. Allica’s CEO Richard Davies said “FSB does a vital job championing the needs and interests of SMEs across the UK. This new partnership unlocks even more benefits for small business owners looking to get a better return on their hard-earned savings. “We’re delighted to be partnering with FSB to help give their members the banking they deserve.” Caroline Lavelle, Chief Commercial Officer at the Federation of Small Businesses, said “We’re delighted to be working with Allica Bank to give FSB members access to a market-leading return on their savings. Many small businesses keep their money in accounts earning little to no interest, which is a huge, missed opportunity to generate cash.   “We’re looking forward to exploring how else FSB and Allica can work together to support the UK’s thriving small business community, alongside all the other member benefits we offer.”   We’re looking forward to helping FSB members put their cash to work!   👉 Find out more: https://lnkd.in/eZxWQFvm #businessbanking #SMEs #savings #FSB #FSB50 #partnerships

📈 The amount of savings interest SMEs are missing out on has increased to £9 billion! Research for the 2024 update of the Great British Savings Squeeze has uncovered the sharp rise. Here’s how that breaks down: 🔵 £5.45 billion – the amount of interest SMEs miss out on by keeping £126 billion of cash in accounts earning zero interest. 🔵 £3.58 billion – the amount of interest businesses miss out on by keeping £122 billion of SME savings in interest-bearing accounts that earn less than the big banks offer their large corporate customers. When we conducted the same research last year, we found that SMEs were missing out on £7.5 billion in savings interest. The reason for the increase is because the gap in rates offered by the big banks to SMEs and large corporates has increased from 2% to 3%. We formed the Great British Savings Squeeze campaign together with the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) (FSB), Institute of Directors (IoD) and Bira - British Independent Retailers Association. The campaign asks for an immediate investigation into the business savings market, with a focus on asking government and regulators to repair the broken elements and get small businesses the money they deserve. 🤝 We’re proud to work with long-established accountancy firm, PM+M Solutions for Business LLP to help their clients with business banking. Established in 1919, it has over 160 specialists in the north-west supporting established SMEs with accounting services, from audit and advisory to cloud accounting and corporate finance. However, with recent retrenching from high street banks, the firm lost the support of their local relationship managers. Allica was glad to re-introduce a relationship banking level of service to PM+M and their clients.    Judith Dugdale, Partner at PM+M Solutions for Business LLP, said: “In recent years, shifts in the banking sector have meant that many SMEs no longer have the dedicated client relationship managers they once appreciated. As a result, some business owners are looking to re-establish that personal connection. The lending approach of some banks has become more standardised, which may potentially miss the specific needs of individual businesses.    “Allica has changed the game. The fact businesses get a dedicated relationship manager is a huge plus when supporting our clients. I also love that I have a dedicated Partnerships Manager, Steven Grigg, and can easily arrange for him to meet up with me or my clients. Also, the bank interest rates are very appealing and the process of setting up is quick and simple.”    Steven Grigg, Partnerships Manager (North) at Allica, added: “Allica is delighted to be working with a forward-thinking accountancy practice like PM+M to help their clients get more from their bank.     “We launched our dedicated accountancy partnerships team this year, and have already spoken with over 1,000 firms across the UK. Many of them say that business banking has become extremely challenging for their clients, from waiting months to open a current account to getting impersonal experience. Having partnerships and relationships managers is crucial for businesses’ success, and we’re glad that Allica can offer business banking how it used to be, just better.”    #accountants #accountantsspotlight #businessbanking #SMEfinance #SMEsupport

🐶 “It was the best advice I ever got,” said Beate Rothon, founder of Gentle Dog Food, after her accountant suggested she speak to Allica about opening a bank account. Gentle is a family-run natural dog food distributor based in Devon that now employs six people. It was the first company to introduce cold-pressed dog food to the UK. Disappointed with the lack of support she’d received from the big banks, in June Beate decided to move her business current account to Allica. Now, with the personal support of her relationship manager, Matt West, Beate’s earning a great rate on her instant-access savings and investing the interest payments back into growing her business. Thanks so much to Simon Lewis at Thompson Jenner for putting Beate in touch with us 🙏   Check out a video about Beate's experience below. With a special thanks to Nala for being such a wonderful model for the dog food. She looks very satisfied! 🦴 #dogs #dogfood #devon #devonbusiness #businessbanking #accountants
