Our next blog in our 'Accelerating Action on Gender Equality' series comes from All We Can's partner SHIFSD LIBERIA. We've spent the last 12 months spotlighting SHIFSD and their incredible work around adult literacy and vocational skills training programmes. Please give their blog a read, it's fantastic and they are doing wonderful work for communities (and in particular women) in Liberia!
SHIFSD: ACCELERATING ACTION ON GENDER EQUALITY Our next blog comes from SHIFSD LIBERIA, one of our partners from Liberia. Working towards a just society free of illiteracy and poverty, SHIFSD believes in the power of functional adult literacy and entrepreneurship to challenge the issues that communities face. Founded at the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana in 2000, the organisation returned home to Liberia in 2008 to continue to pursue its aims of helping others to help themselves through collective initiatives. AGLIT+: ACCELERATING ACTION ON GENDER EQUALITY Our next blog comes from AGLIT+, one of our partners from Malawi. AGLIT+ has a combined literacy and health education programme for rural adolescent girls and boys aged 10 – 19 years that have missed out on school. The combined literacy and health education programme, is a non-clinical health intervention that was introduced as one way of tackling poor reproductive health of young women and adolescent girls. The goal is to improve girls’ and boys’ health-seeking behaviour especially reproductive health. https://lnkd.in/d6mte4is

LENT: MONTHLY MATTERS All We Can works with over 20 local partners in low-income countries around the world. While they are all tackling poverty and injustice in their own unique way, the barriers they encounter to running a sustainable organisation have many common threads. In Grace's story, we tell a fictionalised tale that explores the real issues our partners face, and how your regular support can make a real difference. Based on stories and anecdotes from our partners, and told in an exploratory play style, this video series is perfect for churches and small groups wanting to explore how to respond to global poverty and injustice. In part 2, we explore one of the main issues many of our local partners encounter - the constant need to apply for funding, and the various hoops that must be jumped through to acquire it.

HUGE shout out to Alice Arbon who is selling cakes at Methodist Church House today to fundraise for All We Can! If she wanted to, Alice could be a professional baker as her cakes and baked goods are THE BEST! Friends at The Methodist Church, if you're in Tavistock Place today, please go and buy a cake - you'll thank me later!
Friends at The Methodist Church, if you're at Tavistock Place today, make sure to check out the All We Can bake sale downstairs! The bake sale is being hosted by Alice Arbon, who works in the Ministries Team, as she's fundraising for the London Landmarks Half Marathon!

MAMIE FOUNDATION: ACCELERATING ACTION ON GENDER EQUALITY Our next blog comes from Mamie Foundation, one of our partners from Sierra Leone. Mamie Foundation works with children, young people and women who have experienced violence, abuse and discrimination because of their gender or social status. They strive to help achieve a just and equitable world where children, young people and women have the tools they need to shape their own future. In particular, Mamie Foundation helps women to claim their human rights, be free from violence and abuse, become financially self-sufficient and socially active. Similarly, they support young people to develop employability skills and support entrepreneurship opportunities, and improve access to quality education for children. https://lnkd.in/efNtieYS
