I'm still on a high from the GRAND launch of our Bishops Itchington Co-operative Food store on Saturday! It was absolutely incredible to see so many of the local community turn up and support us (and i could breath a sigh of relief that our marketing efforts had paid off!). It's amazing to see how many new members we've signed up over the weekend, particularly in such a small (but mighty!) community. New store launches are just a small part of what we do but make a massive difference to how we come together as a team to deliver brilliant standards and exceptional service, all day every day! The blood, sweat and tears is always so worthwhile and we always have a laugh along the way (infact, i'd go as far as to say we have fun!). It's absolutely fantastic to see such a project come together and to work with so many inspiring people. We're making massive strides ahead in each store launch we do and i'm so incredibly proud to work with such an amazing team. The introduction of Electronic Shelf Edge Labels (ESEL's) with Herbert Retail have changed the way our stores look and Bishops Itchington was no exception. It did, however, mean we had to rethink some of our point of sale but with the help and support of the creative talent at AlphaGraphics UK (Andy Smith and Laura Heanan) the printing capabilities of BPD Group (Will Skelchy and Kacey Browne), we've made huge improvements in our on shelf communications with customers and members. Our ESEL surrounds are a fantastic new edition to our point of sale kit and we've had so much positive feedback about them. I also love the fact they are responsible sourced in the UK! And i couldn't be more excited about the unveiling of our BRAND NEW mascot, Cooper! Cooper made it's debut appearance on Saturday and loved it! He was definitely a big hit with the kids and big kids! As a Society, our values lie in our members, colleagues and communities. We are proud to be owned by our members, but i'm even more proud to be a part of a family here at Heart of England Co-operative Society Ltd. Right, gushy post over.... Our next exciting development is Glenvale Park in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, later this year. Watch this space.....it's going to be epic!

What a fabulous time we had for tea with 'Our Hospitals Charity' at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to celebrate the 76th NHS Birthday and raise money for the spinal clinic. We were asked to make the event 'curiouser and curiouser' with the additions of Alice in Wonderland-themed photo opportunities and table decorations. So of course we dived right into the rabbit hole 🐇 🕳 and created our very own world of nonsense! All for a good cause of course! A huge thank you to our team who worked on the project and brought it to life, plus our very own Emma Kemp who even helped serve tea and coffee on the day, and of course to the charity and hospital for inviting us to be part of such a special occasion, we are certain it will be the first of many!
