Kicking off a new awards season, we’re back as partners of The Courier Food & Drink Awards 2025 - now open for entries. This year we’re sponsoring the Spirit Producer of the Year category, and with a client base full of bold, innovative drinks brands, this industry is where our passion truly shines.   The category celebrates independently owned craft spirits businesses that continually push boundaries, foster strong customer relationships, and demonstrate a deep commitment to local communities and sustainable practices. As no strangers to the sector, we’re excited to give back by recognising the incredible achievements of its trailblazers and can't wait to see who is shortlisted at next year's awards. 🔥 #CourierAwards #CourierFoodandDrinkAwards #2025AwardsSeason

It’s showtime! Tonight, we find out if we’ve won the title of this year’s Brand Marketing & Social Media Winner at the The Courier Business Awards. Nominated for our work with Angus spirit-makers and long-time clients, Gin Bothy, we took immense pride in telling the story of how the brand made it onto one of the world’s biggest stages - the Oscars. Their Original Gin was included in the Everybody Wins nominee ‘swag’ bags, taken home by the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Cillian Murphy and Jodie Foster. Propelling them to a global audience, our campaign amassed an audience of over 15 million through a blend of targeted media, digital engagement, and influencer partnerships. With high-profile features on the BBC, Lorraine, The Sun, and Shortlist spotlighting the brand for an entirely new audience. Here’s to a campaign that made it to Hollywood - now let’s see if it brings home the trophy! #CourierBusinessAwards #AwardNominee #ClientWork

As part of an ongoing brand development journey with Leisure & Sport Dundee, we hit the road to deliver tailored social media training for key stakeholders in the organisation. Held across their locations in the city, including the iconic Ice Arena and Camperdown Wildlife Park, we designed our interactive workshops to provide them with the tools to boost their online presence and connect more effectively with their community. The goal; empowering employees to confidently showcase their fantastic classes, facilities, and services through dynamic social media content. But it wasn’t just about sharing our expertise; it was also a valuable opportunity to learn more about our clients - gaining insights into their needs, experiences, and pain points. Sherridan Samson, Business Development & Learning Manager at Leisure and Culture Dundee, shared: “The social media workshops were incredibly valuable. They helped our team learn how to effectively promote our services and showcase the amazing work we do across the city. “The team at Altar were really knowledgeable and friendly. The workshops were fun, engaging and entirely tailored to us. They got hands on helping us gain practical skills we can now use on a daily basis. We would definitely recommend Altar for any organisations looking to expand their knowledge on social media as it is so important in today's digital world.” #creativeagency #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing

Since 2019, we’ve been proud to collaborate with Wild in Art, developing over 50 bespoke apps that bring art trails to life in towns and cities across the UK. This summer, we launched another app a little closer to home - the Hairy Coo Trail in Perth & Kinross. Boasting a top-five spot on the Apple Paid Graphic Design Chart for more than two months and over 1,000 downloads on the Google Play Store, we had the pleasure of attending the farewell weekend at Scone Palace to celebrate the trail’s success. Thousands took part in the two-day event, engaging with the app to unlock design inspiration, competitions, and deals. All while collecting a total of 51 sculptures, including two sponsored by our Perthshire clients, The Morris Leslie Group and Simon Howie Foods. With trails available in almost every major UK city, join the hunt for your nearest sculptures and download one of the apps today. #clientwork #app #appdesign

Introducing our latest collaboration with Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd’s Global Travel Retail team: the stunning Edinburgh Gin boutique store at World Duty Free - WDF, Edinburgh Airport.    The immersive shop-in-shop experience was designed to spotlight Edinburgh Gin’s hero releases while showcasing new and exclusive products in a modern, eye-catching space. Taking inspiration from natural stone and wood, the design is complemented by arched wall bays and a curved counter, softening the whole shop experience for any traveller.    The result is a striking, contemporary space shortlisted for ‘Best New Speciality Shop Opening’ at the 2024 Frontier Award. Here’s to more bold, visionary work that brings brands to life. #clientwork #specialtystore #branding

October is full of reasons to celebrate.  We’ve welcomed two new Altar team members to our Employee-Owned Trust: Cameron James Fullerton, Junior Accounts Assistant, and Paisley Buchan, Digital Marketing & PR Assistant. Cameron joined us straight from school and has spent the past year undertaking his modern apprenticeship while providing invaluable support to the finance team. He said: “Between being shortlisted for Modern Apprentice of the Year and winning Employee of the Month this year has felt amazing. “I’ve also just finished my SCQF Level 5 apprenticeship, and now I’m looking forward to starting Level 6 as a member of the EOT. It feels good to wrap everything up on a high note.” Following a summer internship with our Comms team in 2023, Paisley remained with us part-time while completing her studies, transitioning to a full-time role after graduating in May. She said: “18 months ago I wouldn’t have believed I’d get to work here, let alone be a co-owner of the business.  “The timing really couldn’t have been better. Joining the EOT during our launch as one combined agency feels incredibly special. I love seeing ‘co-owner’ on my signature.” In 2021, Altar became only the second creative agency in Scotland to establish an Employee-Owned Trust (EOT). This model empowers employees with a significant stake in the company, encouraging a culture of dedication and creativity, ultimately translating into exceptional results for our clients. #EOT #EmployeeOwnedTrust
